La Cavallerizas Reales or Royal Stables: what's to know

The Cavallerizas Reales of Cordoba are a group of stables built in 1570 by the Philip the II.

In the stables were gathered the best stallions and mares of the lands bordering with the Guadalquivir, giving origin to the breed of the Andalusian horse.

Since 1929 they have been declared National Historical Monument and they are part of the historic center of Cordoba, declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.

They are located near the Alcazar de Los Reyes Cristianos.
