A pleasant tour suitable for everyone, it allows you to explore the rural areas of Villacidro, with the first stop at the church of San Sisinnio with its centuries-old olive trees. You proceed uphill towards one of the panoramic points that allows you to enjoy a complete view of the town and the beautiful lake on the Rio Leni.
Arrived at the panoramic point, proceed towards the reservoir and follow the asphalted road that runs along the lake, arrived at the extreme point, proceed for about 2 kilometers towards the woods of Monti Mannu, arrive at the first source and take the opportunity to recharge the supplies of water and enjoy a fresh break.
We reverse the route and head back towards the lake and follow the road that runs along it until we reach the embankment "wall" which offers us a beautiful view of the whole lake.
We proceed downhill for a few kilometers and turning left we head towards the town, a constant climb makes us rise in altitude and allows us to start our urban ride from the highest part of Villacidro.
The town hall with its panoramic terrace, Piazza Zampillo and the church of Santa Barbara, patron saint of the town, up to the Liberty style washhouse.
After crossing the historic center, proceed uphill towards a new panoramic point, cross the entire cycle-pedestrian area overlooking the town and head towards the famous Sa Spendula Waterfall, here after a refreshment break you resume your ride and head towards the starting point.

From the Big Bench of “Bricco Lu”, you can enjoy a 360 degree view (or almost) of the whole surrounding landscape. In the distance, the Alps, with their perennial glaciers, will be the masters. All around you, you will see the immensity of the vineyards and hazelnut groves that represent the real flagship of Monferrato Area.
How to visit Montegrosso d’Asti
Montegrosso preserves an ancient medieval village located on the top of the hill. Right in the ancient center, the feudal castle stands out imposingly, built in 1134, a true work of engineering for the time.
Our journey starts from the “Enoteca dei Colli Astiani”, a reference point in the area for over 20 years for all lovers of good wine.
The route will wind between the hills of Monferrato and Langhe through splendid scenery.
You pedal almost immediately on a slope to reach the "crest" of the surrounding hills and enjoy the best landscapes.
Once you reach the border with Castagnole delle Lanze you will reach the Big Bench of Bricco Lu, from which you will have a memorable view of the surrounding landscape.
Calosso
Continuing the ride "on the crest" you will arrive at the ancient village of Calosso, also perched on a hill dominating the surrounding landscape.
This town is made famous by the Rapulè Festival which takes place every year on the third weekend of October, when the harvest comes to an end.
During this event it is possible to wander through the streets of the historic center tasting the typical dishes of Piedmontese cuisine, combined with sensational wine tastings.
In Calosso, the fortified wall that houses the ancient medieval castle certainly stands out.
This imposing structure has had a rather troubled history over the centuries and has undergone numerous destructions and alterations.
Agliano Terme and Retourn
Continuing along the route you will reach the town of Agliano Terme, a town famous for its wine landscapes and, as the name itself says, for its small spa.
You will reach the highest point of the town, characterized by a large square with an excellent view and the majestic tower of the ancient castle.
The castle of Agliano Terme was destroyed in the first half of the seventeenth century during the struggle between the Duke of Savoy and the Spaniards for the succession of Monferrato.
Today the tower remains of the mighty castle, which can be visited and owned by the aqueduct.
The top of the building is a privileged vantage point for observing the hills of the Province of Asti.
Going down towards the valley you will pass in front of the thermal station.
In 1770 a spring with a particular smell was discovered in a field of Agliano.
Subsequent chemical-physical analyzes confirmed the presence of sulfur and other substances in what the locals called "rotten water".
Right in that place, a hotel was built that began to welcome tourists right away and, later, everything became a spa.
Continuing along this flat road, the route will bring you back to the “Enoteca dei Colli Astiani” from where the tour started.

Questo percorso lungo ed estremo parte dal piccolo come di La Magdeleine. Scendendo lungo la strada che porta al lago di Lod (Antey St. Andre) si raggiunge la strada statale appena fuori dal paese. Giunti alla statale purtroppo non ci sono molte alternative e occore raggiungere l'abitato di Antey St. André su asfalto (procedere con cautela auto). Cio nonostante la riserva naturale del lago di Lod e la graziosa frazione di Challien non vi deluderanno. Dopo circa 5 km si raggiunge Antey St. André e svoltando a sinistra si attraversal la frazione di Petit Antey per giungere in una splendida strada sterrata attrezzata che vi porta proprio in centro. Da li si attraversa la statale che sale a Cervinia per imboccare un sentiero lungo il fiume Marmore e vi porta alla frazione di Cerian. Piccola e praticamente inviolata, la frazione di Cerian, una volta attraversata, permette di raggiungere la centralina dell'Acqua di Antey St. Andre con una ripida e divertente discesa su sterrato. Si sale nuovamente per arrivare a Chessin e dopo aver riattraversato la statale si imbocca uno splendido sterrato che porta in collina a Chatillon. Da qui un percorso conosciuto e assai frequentato, il Rue de La Plaine, permette di raggiungere la zona delle Terme di St. Vincent. La parte di divertente e meno faticosa finisce qui. Dalla zona Termale si sale ora alla frazione di Moron (St. Vincent) e dopo circa un paio di km sulla sinistra si sale ancora per raggiungere Perrieres fantastica frazione immersa nel verde piu incontaminato. Una volta attraversata la frazione di Perrieres una poderale pianeggiante vi porta nuovamente a Chatillon per farvi iniziare l'ultima faticosa ma emozionante salita. Si attraversa un fitto bosco seguendo una strada asfaltata che porta a Nissod, piccola frazione che domina la collina di Chatillon, un paesaggio emozionante vi accoglierà. Oltrepassato Nissod si continua a salire ma la strada diventa sterrata e dopo circa 4 km si raggiungono gli alpeggi a dir poco meravigliosi ai piedi del Monte Zerbion. Non è ancora finita la salita....oltrepassati gli alpeggi si raggiunge la Valserena, un enorme radura immersa nel gran bosco della collina di Chatillon, ok la somma è quasi raggiunta, un simpatico pianoro seguito da una splendida discesa vi porterà ora al magico Promiod. Ok ci siamo la metà è vicina si sale nel bosco si incontra un bellissimo alpeggio incastonato nel bosco e voila, all'orizzonte La Magdeleine....

Si parte dalla piazza di Greve in Chianti proseguendo per un breve tratto sulla strada Chiantigiana S.R. 222, dopodiché si svolta a sinistra seguendo la direzione per il borgo di Lamole, uno dei punti più alti in cui viene coltivato il vino Chianti Classico e dove sono ancora visibili i così detti vigneti terrazzati che rappresentano uno dei metodi di coltivazione più antichi.
Dalla Piazza di Lamole si prosegue a destra, raggiungendo la via che vi condurrà al borgo di Panzano in Chianti, una tipica strada bianca toscana contornata da vigneti e oliveti. Una volta giunti a Panzano in Chianti, grazioso insediamento con botteghe tipiche artigiane e punti degustazione, attraversando il centro storico si prosegue in direzione di Montefioralle, borgo fortificato medievale, che vanta la sua presenza anche nella Guida dei Borghi più Belli d’Italia, dalla strada di Montefioralle si tornerà nuovamente nel centro di Greve in Chianti, concludendo l’anello della durata di circa 25km.

Si pedala su una carrareccia ampia e tranquilla, circondati da una natura che cambia colore ad ogni curva. L’aria profuma di bosco, il silenzio è rotto solo dal fruscio delle foglie… e all’improvviso, la vista si apre: il Monte Soratte si staglia all’orizzonte, mentre la Valle del Tevere si stende ai tuoi piedi. In alcuni tratti, puoi scorgere anche la spettacolare dolina carsica del Revotano, un luogo unico nel suo genere, simbolo geologico e spirituale di Roccantica.
💧 Arrivo: Fonte Regna
La destinazione è un luogo magico: Fonte Regna, una sorgente naturale che dà vita a un antico fontanile in pietra. Qui puoi rinfrescarti con acqua purissima, sederti all’ombra e goderti il panorama. Secondo la tradizione locale, è il posto perfetto per una “panzanella sabina”: pane imbevuto direttamente alla fonte, appoggiato sulle pietre levigate e gustato nella pace del bosco.
Accanto al fontanile si estende un bosco monumentale di faggi, querce e lecci, un autentico santuario naturale che invita alla sosta e alla contemplazione.

Se hai ancora energia, da qui partono diversi sentieri escursionistici. Il più avventuroso ti conduce fino alla vetta del Monte Pizzuto (1.288 m), uno dei panorami più emozionanti dell’intera Sabina.

in Sabina, a Casperia, a Cantalupo in Sabina, a Roccantica, a Montasola
Questo anello nel Parco della Vena del Gesso Romagnola ci porta a visitare un ambiente molto vario e scenografico, ricco di testimonianze storiche e naturalistiche. Salendo da Brisighella subito ci si porta nel paesaggio brullo e denudato dei calanchi pliocenici che caratterizzano le prima colline della Vena del Gesso. Scendendo nella valle del Senio il paesaggio si fa piu' morbido e caratterizzato dai vigneti e vegetazione piu' lussureggiante. Presto si arriva a Riolo Terme dove spicca la rocca del XIV secolo che si puo' visitare, orario permettendo. Continuiamo verso Zattaglia e saliamo il crinale di Rontana da dove la vista spazia fino al Parco del Casentino e la Romagna toscana. Scendendo verso Brisighella ci si puo' fermare alla Rocca di Brisighella per una piacevole visita e per un punto panoramico privilegiato su tutta la valle.

THE ITINERARY OF THE POPES AND THE OLD ROME FIUGGI RAILWAY
We are on one of the most demanding stages of the entire GTL, 80 km for about 1200 m of elevation gain. However, the route offers the possibility of being further fragmented, since several railway stations are located along the route and you can therefore use the bike transport service by train to shorten the journey.On the other hand, this stage offers a huge historical and cultural heritage, as well as sections of the existing cycle path, the route of the former Rome-Fiuggi railway. Starting from Frosinone, we continue to follow the route of the Eurovelo 5 Romea/Francigena, and we reach the village of Ferentino; from here begins the first of the climbs that characterize the course of the GTL7: the first objective is the village of Fumone, which overlooks the Ernici Mountains, on the top of which stands the imposing Castle owned by the Caetani family, the same as Boniface VIII: here Celestine V was imprisoned and spent his last days, the one who out of cowardice made the great refusal according to Dante; A gloomy and sinister place, it has originated various legends of ghosts over the centuries.From here we continue to the quiet Lake Canterno, until we go up towards Fiuggi, a well-known spa, where we can follow the route of the old railway that until a few decades ago led to Rome: today it is a marked cycle path that passes one after the other the stations of the past, sheltered from the traffic of the Via Prenestina.With a detour it is worth reaching Anagni, another delightful papal village rich in architecture and art.Acuto, Piglio, Serrano, and the route reserved for bicycles is interrupted: avoiding the Prenestina, we continue on Eurovelo 5 which leads us to other wonderful medieval towns such as Gimignano, Genazzano and Cave, ancient papal fiefdoms and a pilgrimage destination for writers such as Gregorovius, and above all Palestrina, whose Temple of Fortuna Primigenia stands out as one of the major pagan sanctuaries of Roman times. From this area there are also many beautiful roads towards the Prenestini Mountains, to deviate from the course of the GTL and challenge the climbs a bit.We hen end the route in Zagarolo, where there is another railway junction for Rome

Pronti....via....salite verso la chiesa in direzione frazione di Artaz, senza prendere nessuna deviazione. Una volta oltrepassato l'Hotel Miravidi continuate sulla strada principale che ad un certo punto diventa sterrata per raggiungere il piccolo lago di Crous. Lasciatevi il lago alla destra ed oltrepassato quest'ultimo prendete la salita impegnativa sulla destra. Dopo aver affrontato un sentiero in contropendenza raggiungerete il Col Pilaz. Raggiunta la vasca di irrigazione prendete la destra e iniziate la lunga salita in direzione Champlong. La salita è impegnativa. Dopo circa 2 km raggiungerete i laghetti di Champlong a quota 2200 m.s.l.m. Ok la salita piu impegnativa è finita. Procedete lungo lo sterrato che, dopo una panoramica sul Cervino, attraversando una splendida finestrella di gesso bianco, vi fara scendere a tutta velocità negli alpeggi di Chamois. Dovete raggiungere l'alpeggio di Foresus che si trova in fondo alla discesa ripida appena fuori dal bosco. A questo punto prestate attenzione, l'alpeggio rimarrà alla vostra sinistra e voi dovete prendere la prima strada a destra per poter salire nuovamente e raggiungere prima l'alpeggio di Glavin e poi l'avvivo della seggiovia. Continuate sul sentiero a destra e dopo circa 200m di salita prendete la deviazione a sinistra sul tornante, una strada sterrata meno battuta che scende leggermente vi porterà al colle di Cheneil. Il sentiero in questo punto diventa davvero tecnico quindi proseguendo lungo l'Alta Via n. 1 dovete raggiungere l'abitato di Cheneil, si consiglia di scendere e spingere la bicicletta nei tratti piu ripidi. Dopo circa 2 km raggiungerete Cheneil. Complimenti siete stati bravissimi godetevi questa rara oasi di bellezza. Il percorso non finisce qui dovete ancora scendere quindi con le spalle rivolte a monte prendete la strada sterrata che scende a sinistra e raggiungete il parcheggio della funicolare che sale a Cheneil. Il percorso torna nuovamente asfaltato, dovete continuare la discesa fino al bivio che sulla sinistra che vi conduce alla splendida frazione di Promindoz. Da qui la strada ritorna sentiero e sulla destra della frazione prendete le indicazioni che vi conducono a Cretaz di Valtournenche. Il sentiero dopo circa 10 min incrocia una strada poderale, prende la strada sterrata a sinistra e raggiungete in circa 10 min le case di Valtournenche, splendide cascate e ponti vi incanteranno. Raggiunto l'abitato continuate sulla strada asfaltata e una volta raggiunta la strada principale scendete a sinistra fino a raggiungere la statale per Breuil Cervinia. Da qui svoltate a sinistra e scendete attraversando il centro abitato di Valtournenche, ATTENZIONE STRADA TRAFFICATA. Continuate a scendere fino alle ultime case del centro di Valtournenche e poco dopo l' Hotel Millefiori prendete il sentiero a destra tra le case che vi conduce, con una discesa abbastanza tecnica, nella piana di Maen. Una volta raggiunta la chiesa troverete nuovamente la statale per Cervinia che dovete attraversare per riprendere una strada di fronte a voi che va verso il lago di Maen. Proseguite fino al primo bivio che trovate, svoltate a destra e poi prendete il ponte a sinistra vi troverete nuovamente lungo la statale. Scendete lungo la statale fino all'altezza della carrozzeria oltrepassate il parcheggio ed infilatevi nel sentiero lungo lago. Una volta oltrepassato lo sbarramento raggiungerete una strada, svoltate a sinistra e continuate a scendere fino a raggiungere l'ecocentro, superatelo e RALLENTATE dovete prendere il sentiero a sinistra. Proseguito lungo il torrente per raggiungere una casa dove il sentiero si immette su una strada asfaltata. Svoltate a sinistra e raggiungete la frazione di Buisson. Da qui prendete il biglietto per la funivia ( 2,00 € andata + 2,00 € di bicicletta per un totale di 4,00 € potrebbero esserci dei rincari nei mesi di punta luglio ed agosto) benvenuti nella Perla delle Alpi di Chamois. Uscendo dalla stazione della funivia potete fermarvi a sorseggiare qualcosa nei bar presenti nella piazza. Per rientrare a La Magdeleine dovete ora prendere la stradina a destra dell'edificio comunale e percorrerlo fino alla fine per circa 4 km. Quando arriverete sulla strada asfaltata svoltate a destra e raggiungete nuovamente l'Hotel Tantané. Complimenti avete appena concluso un percorso di 40 km!!!!!

How to Visit Nizza Monferrato….
Nizza is the most important agricultural and commercial center located in the heart of Monferrato, one of the most famous Italian places of wine production in the world, especially as regards red wines. UNESCO World Heritage Site for its landscape assets and for the Barbera and Nizza DOCG wines, it is the most important center of the province and of the Belbo Valley.
In Nizza it is worth taking a stroll through the streets of the center and stopping to admire the Campanon tower, in the town square, the oldest civic tower in the city, incorporated into the Town Hall.
The historic center is beautiful, full of typical bars and restaurants where you can taste the specialties of Nicese and Piedmontese cuisine based on Cardo Gobbo, a renowned local product.
There will certainly be the possibility of some amazing tasting of red wine at the Regional Enoteca of Nizza, located near the splendid Palazzo Crova, an admirable example of an 18th century noble town residence.
At the end of the tour, the more "daring" will be able to reach the Church of Madonna della Neve, better known as "the Bricco di Nizza Church", one of the highest points in the town.
It can be reached via a very steep climb but the view over the city and the surrounding municipalities is certainly worth the effort.
Vaglio Serra
Vaglio Serra is a splendid town in the Monferrato area surrounded by the luxuriant natural park of Val Sarmassa.
In this reserve there are many trails for trekking and mountain biking and these woods are certainly worth a careful visit.
The route will take you to the historic center of this village where you can admire the splendid church of San Pancrazio, set in a splendid square that dominates the surrounding landscape.
Continuing the tour you will arrive near the Cantina di Vinchio e Vaglio, a prestigious company that produces high quality wines famous all over the world.
Here it is possible to organize a tasting of excellent red wines and more.
Continuing along the track, the road will become a dirt road and, once again on the asphalt, you will continue in the direction of the town of Castelnuovo Calcea.
How to visit Castelnuovo Calcea
The track will take you to Michele Chiarlo's Art Park "La Court", which you will access by passing in front of one of the many giant benches that are present in Monferrato.
This splendid art park surrounded by vineyards features a huge statue representing Mother Nature and four sites representing the four main elements of nature: water, air, earth and fire.
From here, with a small detour from the original route, you can reach the center of the municipality of Castelnuovo Calcea, the birthplace of the poet Angelo Brofferio.
Of great importance, in Castelnuovo, is certainly the ancient castle, now owned by the municipality.
This construction had a troubled life and today only the entrance portal, an ancient tower and some walls remain.

Leave Novello towards La Morra, 7 kms from the starting point. La Morra is a village on the top of a hill, you can see it along the route and it's worth a break. Go on downwards Borgata Annunziata and we suggest two stops. Erbaluna Winery is one of the (few) Langhe wine producers who choose the organic farming. Taste it! A little further Marrone Winery can show its woderful cellar where the Barolo wine is aged. Have a wine-tasting experience on the terrace.
On your way back you can visit Barolo and Novello for more wine-tasting and maybe dinner.

During the Second World War Ljubljana was encircled by a bob wire fence. It was a very difficult time for the locals: there was not enough food in the city and they were not allowed to exit and to go to the countryside as well.
After the war, in the area of the fence locals made a so-called Path of Remembrance and Friendship, a green ring around Ljubljana.
The trail is suitable for walking as well as for cycling. It is 34 km long and all the time well kept. There is an alley of more than 7000 trees and you are going to enjoy their shade throughout of the tour.
You can start your tour at any place. The closest to the city centre is the part on the south - near Petrol gas station Barjanska 90. Later on just, follow the green and white sign.
In addition, we suggest doing the trail counter clockwise. This way you are going to have the steepest part at the beginning and later on, you can enjoy a pleasant, mainly flat ride.

Partenza: Montalto Ligure

La strada è tranquilla e poco trafficata, permettendoti di godere appieno della bellezza del paesaggio circostante.
Ritorno a Montalto Ligure
Dopo aver esplorato Costa e Arzane, inizierai il viaggio di ritorno verso Montalto Ligure. Il percorso di ritorno offre nuove prospettive sul paesaggio, con la luce del pomeriggio che illumina le colline e i borghi circostanti. Man mano che ti avvicini a Montalto, potrai riflettere sulle meraviglie naturali e culturali che hai scoperto lungo il cammino.

In un quadro paesaggistico di assoluto pregio, sarà piacevole pedalare lungo facili sterrati e strade asfaltate per ammirare angoli suggestivi, che mostrano il lato rurale di questi luoghi. Si attraverseranno vigneti, meleti e i coltivi tipici e si potranno ammirare alcuni splendidi esempi di chiese campestri e caseforti medievali e villaggi rurali.
