Mongiana Between Nature and History
Mongiana was established during the Bourbon period as an ironworks center where smelting activities and the production of artifacts and weapons took place.
During the bike ride, you will explore the village, and for those interested in industrial archaeology, you can visit the Mufar, the Museum of the Royal Bourbon Ironworks.
Continuing the ride, you will encounter monumental trees until you reach Villa Vittoria, the Biodiversity Park. Continuing on foot within the park, you will visit an enchanting and picturesque garden where you may have the chance to see deer, fallow deer, and mouflon.
The bike ride will then proceed towards Lake Sambuco along a gravel road suitable for both adults and children, offering a full immersion in the natural beauty of the Regional Park of the Serre, within the Cropani-Micone reserve. You will visit the small lakes, pass by enclosures where hundreds of semi-wild fallow deer live, until you reach the Mongianella area.

Partendo da Armonie in Corte con una buona colazione/merenda a base di prodotti tipici locali, si pedala lungo la strada per San Giacomo Vercellese dopo aver puntato l'attenzione sui nidi di cicogne che si trovano subito all'inizio del percorso. Si costeggia quindi il Circuito di Balocco (o più correttamente Centro Sperimentale Balocco) un complesso di circuiti automobilistici costruito nel 1962 dall'Alfa Romeo e oggi di proprietà di Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
Il Canale Cavour
Si prosegue quindi in direzione Villarboit tra le risaie del riso DOP di Baraggia fino a incrociare il Canale Cavour, costruito a supporto dell'agricoltura (in particolare della coltura del riso) che trae origine dal Po a Chivasso (TO) e termina scaricandosi nel Ticino nel comune di Galliate (NO). La sua lunghezza totale è pari a quasi 83 km ed è il terzo canale italiano per lunghezza, dopo il canale Emiliano Romagnolo ed il canale Villoresi. All'imbocco ha una portata massima di 110 m³/s, che ad est del Sesia si riduce ad 85 m³/s. Il nome ricorda Camillo Benso di Cavour, che ne fu promotore.
Con una deviazione verso Albano Vercellese, pedalando tra le risaie fino a lambire il Parco Naturale delle Lame del Sesia, si riattraversa il Canale Cavour raggiungendo il comune di Arborio, dove agli affreschi dell'oratorio di San Sebastiano raccontano di tradizioni artistiche e contadine molto antiche, il centro mantiene la forma, almeno in parte, degli antichi ricetti medievali e gli stucchi raccontano le vicende settecentesche della parrocchiale di San Martino. Ma il nome stesso del paese, che deriva dal cognome della famiglia medievale vercellese che aveva possedimenti terrieri qui, racconta il legame forte con il riso.
In azienda agricola
Qui ad Arborio la giovane azienda agricola Zanazzo Marco accoglie turisti, appassionati di territorio e tanti abitanti locali nel cuore della produzione del riso della Baraggia vercellese. L'azienda fonda la sua tradizione sull’esperienza di tre generazioni di agricoltori succedutisi nella coltivazione del riso. Ben ancorata alla esperienza del passato, si avvale però di moderne tecnologie per la coltivazione, essiccazione e stoccaggio del risone prodotto, nel pieno rispetto dei requisiti standard di prevenzione e sicurezza. Nata nel 2009, grazie ai contributi Europei del Piano di Sviluppo Rurale con le misure di Insediamento Giovani ed Ammodernamento delle Aziende Agricole, rappresenta una sintesi di tradizione e modernità.

The territory
We are in the vineyard area of Nebbiolo da Barolo where the vineyards are so beautiful and historical that they have become Heritage of Humanity Unesco. It is, in fact, a landscape of exceptional beauty!
The territory of the Langhe is characterized by a historical tradition related to the crop of the vine and a true culture related to the production of the deeply rooted wine in the community. It is from these vines that the Barolo is produced : it is the red wine (the King of the Vines) produced with Nebbiolo grapes. The communes where the Barolo is produced are 11 : Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d' Alba (in these 3 only Barolo is produced) and then there are La Morra, Monforte d' Alba, Roddi, Verduno, Cherasco, Diano d' Alba, Novello and Grinzane Cavour.
The winery La Torricella
The Cantina La Torricella is located in Monforte in the fraction Sant' Anna.
The cellar has a long family history, there are 3 generations who have worked and are working inside the cellar : a cutting-edge cellar from the strong family tradition, will know how to amaze you with its proposals.
The tour
This tour leaves from Novello and from here it is very easy to reach Monforte and the winery La Torricella. During the visit to Monforte, mandatory stop at Giant Bench belonging to the Big Bench circuit is the nr #6 Monforte-Gramolere from the Purple color. With the e-bikes the climb will be easy and fun. On the bench it is possible to sit back and relax by admiring the panorama from the high of the ancient city of Monforte that one of the Most Beautiful Borghi of Italy. After the visit to Monforte pedal between the Monfortini vineyards and the electric bike is saddled with the S. Anna fraction. The scenic route offers wonderful farts on the valley, with a view of the Langhe, already before you arrive, you will enjoy the wine paessage.
If you prefer instead you can go first from Castiglione Falletto, admire the imposing castle, enjoy the fantastic view from the belvedere.
The panorama is assured by the scenic route that links Monforte to Castiglione Falletto, pedal into e-bike on the crest of the hill, you will remain open-mouths.
After the tasting you can go up again in the saddle to continue with your tour in the direction of Barolo, from the city center spurts the castle, home to the Vine Museum, great stage for the enthusiasts. After the visit to Barolo it is part of Novello.

L’itinerario ci porterà nella splendida riserva naturale del Bosco delle Pianelle, un’area boschiva caratterizzata da una ricca vegetazione e dalla presenza di fauna avicola. Il bosco che si estende per circa 600 ettari si raggiunge dopo una pedalata panoramica nelle campagne della murgia; giunti nella riserva si percorreranno diversi sentieri alcuni dei quali davvero spettacolari. L’escursione prevede la sosta in masseria situata all’interno dell’area boschiva con degustazione di prodotti tipici. Si conclude con il rientro a Martina Franca.

ATTENZIONE PERCORSO TECNICO. Si parte dall'abitato di La Magdeleine e proseguendo sulla strada principale si sale verso la frazione di Vieu. Raggiunto il tornante seguire le indicazioni per Grande Panchina Col Pilaz, sulla sinistra. Proseguire sulla strada asfaltata principale fino al raggiungimento dello sterrato a circa 2 km. Proseguire sullo sterrato senza prendere nessuna deviazione seguendo le indicazioni per Col Pilaz, laghi di Champlong. Una volta scollinato scendere e prendere il bivio con le indicazioni per Col Pilaz, Grande Panchina. Oltrepassare, seguendo la strada sterrata, la panchina gigante e inizare la salita senza prendere deviazioni seguendo le indicazioni per laghi di Champlong. Dopo circa 1,5 km si raggiunge il piccolo lago di Charey dove iniza il sentiero per intraprendere il single track. ATTENZIONE l'attacco del sentiero del single track si trova nella zona dello scarico del lago, occorre attraversare il ruscello e prendere il sentiero nel bosco a destra che sale gradualmente fino alla cresta. Iniziata la discesa proseguite seguendo l'unico sentiero che trovate, al bivio tenete la destra e continuate a scendere fino a raggiungere nuovamente la Grande Panchina al Col Pilaz. In lontananza sulla sinistra si vede un piccolo alpeggio, raggiungetelo passandolo alla sinistra e dopo circa 25 m prendere il sentiero che trovate alla vostra destra fino al raggiungimento della sede stradale. Una volta raggiunta la sede stradale prendere il sentiero a sinistra indicato come 1A e percorrerlo in discesa fino al raggiungimento delle ultime case dell'abitato di La Magdeleine. Tornerete nuovamente sulla sede stradale, svotate a destra e percorrete circa 600 m. Sulla sinistra si trova una strada bianca percorretela tutta, una volta arrivati in fondo sulla sinistra si trova l'inizio del sentiero, imboccatelo e senguitelo fino al raggiungimento delle ultime case dell'abitato di La Magdeleine. Raggiunte le case tenele la sinistra, passate davanti alla chiesetta e giunti sulla strada andate a destra. Proseguite per circa 300 m e prendete il sentiero che si trova alla sinistra prima del parcheggio. Salite fino al parcheggio di Clou e proseguite per tornare davanti al Bar Tantane' zona di partenza. Complimenti il Natural Enduro è il vostro pane quotidiano!!!

How to visit Montegrosso d’Asti
Montegrosso preserves an ancient medieval village located on the top of the hill. Right in the ancient center, the feudal castle stands out imposingly, built in 1134, a true work of engineering for the time.
Our journey starts from the “Enoteca dei Colli Astiani”, a reference point in the area for over 20 years for all lovers of good wine.
The route will wind between the hills of Monferrato and Langhe through splendid scenery.
You pedal almost immediately on a slope to reach the "crest" of the surrounding hills and enjoy the best landscapes.
Once you reach the border with Castagnole delle Lanze you will reach the Big Bench of Bricco Lu, from which you will have a memorable view of the surrounding landscape.
Calosso
Continuing the ride "on the crest" you will arrive at the ancient village of Calosso, also perched on a hill dominating the surrounding landscape.
This town is made famous by the Rapulè Festival which takes place every year on the third weekend of October, when the harvest comes to an end.
During this event it is possible to wander through the streets of the historic center tasting the typical dishes of Piedmontese cuisine, combined with sensational wine tastings.
In Calosso, the fortified wall that houses the ancient medieval castle certainly stands out.
This imposing structure has had a rather troubled history over the centuries and has undergone numerous destructions and alterations.
Agliano Terme and Retourn
Continuing along the route you will reach the town of Agliano Terme, a town famous for its wine landscapes and, as the name itself says, for its small spa.
You will reach the highest point of the town, characterized by a large square with an excellent view and the majestic tower of the ancient castle.
The castle of Agliano Terme was destroyed in the first half of the seventeenth century during the struggle between the Duke of Savoy and the Spaniards for the succession of Monferrato.
Today the tower remains of the mighty castle, which can be visited and owned by the aqueduct.
The top of the building is a privileged vantage point for observing the hills of the Province of Asti.
Going down towards the valley you will pass in front of the thermal station.
In 1770 a spring with a particular smell was discovered in a field of Agliano.
Subsequent chemical-physical analyzes confirmed the presence of sulfur and other substances in what the locals called "rotten water".
Right in that place, a hotel was built that began to welcome tourists right away and, later, everything became a spa.
Continuing along this flat road, the route will bring you back to the “Enoteca dei Colli Astiani” from where the tour started.

Between Lombardy and Emilia, along the banks of the Po and in the countryside of the Po Valley, there are cities and towns with ancient stories to meet together with their natural environment.
The route starts from Cremona, lying on the Great River like a gigantic boat, to cross over, using the cycle path suspended on the iron bridge over the Po, in the province of Piacenza and pedaling in search of castles and fortresses like that of Monticelli d'Ongina, but peering into strange buildings like bunkers and shacks.
What to see in San Nazzaro
A passage will be dedicated to Isola Serafini, between Cremona and Piacenza, the largest island in the Po river basin with the hydroelectric power plant Carlo Bobbio and the search for a Dutch windmill and a picnic area where to take a break.
In spring, the part of the route that leads from Villanova to Cremona is dotted with cherry trees in bloom and other fruit trees, and if you can't admire the white-and-white show of flowering, you can always console yourself with a taste of the tasty fruits among the tastier than the whole plain or stopping to taste river fish.
Along the way there will therefore be an opportunity to get in touch with local excellences and products!

E-bike Tour which starts from the slopes of the Castelli Romani, from our e-bike rental point in Grottaferrata, and which arrives in the very well known Appia Antica park. Coming down from Grottaferrata, through Marciana valley, in order to reach Roma, you will go through vineyards and you will witness so many fantastic panoramas. Arriving in Santa Maria delle Mole you will begin to travel along the Appia Antica. . You will have a joyful walk admiring the Berretta del Prete, the Casal Rotondo's mausoleum; on the right side of the route you can see the luxurious Villa dei Quintili and the church of Santa Maria Nova. Proceeding you will arrive to Capo di Bove and its museum. Later you will reach the Cecilia Metella's mausoleum, the Massenzio's circus and the Romolo's tomb. From this point on the open-air museum of the archeological park of the Appia Antica turns into un uncontaminated itinerary inside the nature. Approaching the Quo Vadis church you will turn right in order to reach the Caffarella park, looking at the valley you will see the Annia Reggilla's tomb and the church Santo Urbano. Passing the Caffarella park you will arrive to Parco degli Acquedotti and to Casale Vecchia Roma, finally you will come back to Castelli Romani.
Dalla frazione di Brengon (dove noleggiate le bici) seguire la strada asfaltata sino ad incontrare il bivio per Chamois: trascurarlo e proseguire lungo la stradina fino a raggiungere un parcheggio che si trova dopo un ampio tornante a sinistra. Risalire la strada che porta al Col Pilaz nell’abetaia che ogni tanto regala interessanti scorci sul Monte Zerbion e sul Mont Tantané. Superato un tratto di strada leggermente più ripido il tracciato prosegue in un tratto quasi rettilineo, siamo sullo spartiacque con il comune di Chamois ed ogni tanto, tra i rami degli abeti, si intravede l’inconfondibile sagoma del di sua Maestà il CERVINO.
Proseguire sulla poderale che propone una breve discesa sino ad incontrare un bivio: si trascura la strada che prosegue diritta davanti a noi e si svolta a destra continuando la discesa sino al Col Pilaz (1975m).
Riprendere la strada a ritroso e al bivio (che abbiamo incontrato prima) seguire a destra le indicazioni per Chamois. La discesa è bella e pedalabile e si ricongiunge con la pista poderale che porta al caratteristico paese di Chamois (circa un venti minuti).
Il rientro si sviluppa tutto sulla famosa passeggiata La Magdeleine - Chamois e non presenta particolari difficoltà.

We start in Spello, which although small in terms of physical size, attracts visitors from all corners of the world thanks to its wealth of monuments, churches and suggestive stone alleys that climb the surrounding hills. Its town centre is characterised by a vibrant and cosmopolitan atmosphere, with craft shops and restaurants offering local and traditional Umbrian cuisine, which blends perfectly with the elegance of the medieval architecture. From Spello, head in the direction of Assisi via the magnificent Via degli Ulivi, past enchanting views and small jewels of local history and culture such as the Maestà del Mascione (or Mascicone). This scenic mid-coast route, known for the numerous olive groves that line it, offers an evocative journey immersed in nature.
Arriving at San Vitale, we then follow the road in the direction of first Rivotorto and, along pretty little roads with little traffic, then Cannara, a place well known in Umbria for its delicious and typical onion, the subject of one of the most famous festivals in the region.
Then, following an evocative stretch of the Assisi-Spoleto cycle route, we first arrive in the splendid Bevagna, the city of the Gaite, or rather the ancient subdivision of the medieval city that still fills the eyes with beauty, and then near the legendary Lake Aiso, where a relaxing stop is a must to learn about the ancient story and legend of Chiarò, which, according to popular legend, lies at the bottom of the lake, in the shade of luxuriant trees in the green park that surrounds it.
The route then continues in the direction of Spello, filling the eyes with the typical Umbrian valley landscape of towers, cultivated fields and pretty inhabited hamlets.

TARQUINIA / SANTA SEVERA
After ten routes inland, between hills and mountains, the GTL15 returns to the sea, this time north of Rome: it is a simple and quiet stage, about fifty km almost all on the plain, sheltered by the coastal chain of the Tolfa Mountains. This stage follows the course of the future Tyrrhenian Cycle Route, of which there are only a few small sections, following the course of the busy Via Aurelia in parallel and taking advantage of its coplanar and secondary roads. From Tarquinia we lose the remaining altitude by gaining the coast, and from there we head south: on our route, pleasant seaside resorts such as Tarquinia Lido and Santa Marinella, as well as important ports such as Civitavecchia. The track winds around the new Aurelia trying to avoid it in every way, now on the seafront of the villages crossed, often already equipped with safe cycle paths, now on the roads of the hinterland. Our destination, Santa Severa, is embellished by the scenic Castle, which stands right on the sea, on what was the ancient site of Pyrgi, an Etruscan settlement.

ANGUILLARA / ROME THE VIA FRANCIGENA AND THE VEIO PARK
The last stage of the GTL (or the first, if you decide to leave northwards: it is not one-way!) largely exploits the route of the Via Francigena, in the last stretch of the long journey of the pilgrims who arrived in the Holy City. From Anguillara we pass through roads with little traffic near Lake Martignano – depending on the season, it will be more or less pleasant to stop for a swim – and then follow the course of the Cremera stream to the beautiful Sorbo Valley, where the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Sorbo stands. From here we can follow the GPS track and the sporadic indications of the Francigena up to the Veio Park, a city conquered by the Romans in the royal period, whose traces remain in an important archaeological site. We continue our journey towards the city through green patches and streams, along paths that are sometimes bumpy but always fascinating, up to the village of Isola Farnese and the Mola Waterfalls. At this point we still follow the course of the Cremera through secondary roads up to the point where it plunges into the Tiber becoming a tributary: we are now at the gates of the GRA, which we cross with an underpass, and in the northern suburbs of the capital: the entrance to the center is the task of the Tiber ridge, a cycle artery that runs along the river offering unexpected Roman views, from a perspective where traffic does not arrive. The routes to enter Rome include sections of Eurovelo 5 and Eurovelo 7.

TOWARDS THE APENNINES: THE IMPERIAL VILLAS, FROM HADRIAN TO NERO.
with the eighth stage, the GTL shifts into lighter gears and pushes into a new environment, never touched before: the mountains. The Lazio region is an Apennine mountain, rough, genuine, which despite not reaching the altitudes of the Alps knows how to offer the cyclist panoramic roads of incredible beauty. From Zagarolo we head north for this stage of approach to the Tiburtini Mountains, only 39 km for a slightly uphill altimetric trend: our destination is in fact Tivoli, but to get there we have to pass a couple of valleys, cross the beautiful villages of Gallicano, Casape and San Gregorio di Sassola, along winding and swinging roads sheltered by the shade of the woods. After crossing the A24 motorway, the last kilometers before Tivoli are gradually ascending through the vineyards. Once we reach our destination, a number of archaeological and tourist sites of world importance leave us spoiled for choice: if the most famous of the attractions remains Hadrian's Villa, the private residence of the Roman emperor of the same name, Villa d'Este and Villa Gregoriana and their fountains offer an incomparable spectacle. The Aniene also passes through Tivoli, which after being born in the Simbruini mountains crosses this city immediately before throwing itself headlong into the scenic waterfalls, and then calming down and flowing into the Tiber in Rome

Perditi tra i suoi vicoli lastricati, ammira le antiche case in pietra e le caratteristiche porte di accesso, Porta Romana e Porta Reatina (o Santa Maria) dove si può ammirare anche un orologio che segna l'ora canonica medievale. In cima al paese la Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Giovanni Battista, con il suo campanile romanico e il presepe monumentale. Fuori le mura, ti aspetta la seicentesca Chiesa della Santissima Annunziata, punto di partenza della tua avventura, che custodisce una pregevole tela dell'Annunciazione. Non dimenticare di affacciarti dai punti panoramici per godere di una vista spettacolare sulla Valle del Tevere e sul Monte Soratte.
Montasola: Panorama e Spiritualità
Proseguendo il tuo itinerario, raggiungerai Montasola, un altro gioiello medievale arroccato sui Monti Sabini. Il suo centro storico, completamente pedonale, ti incanterà con le sue stradine, gli archi e la torre d'ingresso ben conservata. Visita la Chiesa dei Santi Pietro e Tommaso, risalente al Trecento. Una sosta imperdibile è il Parco il Monte, un'area verde suggestiva per la sua bellezza e la vista mozzafiato. All'interno del parco, scoprirai una piccola e affascinante chiesa rupestre, un luogo di pace e spiritualità, ideale per un ristoro.
Pedala in quota con panorami mozzafiato
L'avventura continua salendo di quota lungo una strada montana che, con alcuni tornanti, ti porterà fino a 1000 metri. Attraverserai prati da pascolo, faggete e boschi monumentali, con la possibilità di scorgere bivacchi e rifugi, tra cui il caratteristico Rifugio Cognolo, perfetto per un'immersione totale nella natura. Lungo il percorso, numerosi affacci panoramici si apriranno sulla Valle del Tevere, il Soratte e il paesaggio della Sabina Tiberina.
