Palace Boselli: what's to know

PALACE BOSELLI

Palazzo Boselli originally was a medieval-era fortified building built in a strategic location between the Brembo and Enna rivers. At the end of the Cinquecento it was found to be a junction point between the passage of the access roads to the high Brembana Valley : the Mercatorum and the Priula. Among its owners were the exponents of the local Boselli family, from which the palace was named. Prior to the construction of the Priula road, travellers passing through the Via Mercatorum were obliged to pass into the inner courtyard of the palace to trace the high valley so that the Boselli controlled their transit. The exterior of the palace features some interesting decorative elements, such as a masks on the north façade and two characters sandwined according to the medieval costume.
