Piglio and His Bench

It starts by ebike from the MOU Contadini Birrai rental point in Genazzano, near the Colonna Castle, and crossing the historic center, rich in history and culture, you will reach the country road which, surrounded by greenery and cultivated meadows, will take you to the Paliano-Fiuggi cycle path. You will start along the cycle path from the former Paliano train station, you will follow a path completely immersed in nature that offers landscapes that very few could expect to see. From the former railway station you begin to climb for a total of about 3 km at 6% until you reach the village of Piglio. The village of Piglio develops on a ridge on the slopes of Monte Scalambra and has a majestic view of the valley below. The territory of Piglio, of volcanic origin, has an ancient tradition of Cesanese del Piglio viticulture.

After passing the second former railway station that you meet on the cycle path, that of Piglio, after about 2 km you reach the Big Bench n. 154, the first giant bench in central Italy, with a wine color in honor of Cesanese.

This circular route will end by returning to Genazzano, where you can taste the craft beers of MOU Contadini Birrai, while on Sunday you can also visit the Colonna Castle or the Ninfeo del Bramante.
