Il marchesato di Saluzzo è molto antico e precede di gran lunga gli stati del rinascimento italiano, nasce infatti nel 1142 con il marchese di Saluzzo Manfredo I. Nei secoli sono cambiati i territori di competenza ma in linea di massima il marchesato di Saluzzo si identifica con le terre che stanno tra la Stura di Demonte e il Po, con le Alpi a fare da contrafforte.
Saluzzo, Staffarda e Revello sono tre luoghi simbolo del marchesato.
Saluzzo
Tra le tante scelte a Saluzzo potete trovare la Castiglia, la Chiesa di San Giovanni e Casa Cavassa. La Castiglia e l’antica residenza dei marchesi, oggi luogo museale e sede di mostre temporanee. La Chiesa di San Giovanni racchiude veri tesori d'arte, come le tre navate, l'abside con la cappella sepolcrale dei Marchesi, il chiostro quadrato, il refettorio e la sala capitolare. Casa Cavassa è stata dimora signorile dei Cavassa, vicari generali dei Marchesi, oggi museo civico con affreschi, quadri e arredi d'epoca (ospita la famosa pala d’altare della Madonna della Misericordia di Hans Clemer).
Staffarda
Staffarda è un’Abbazia Cistercense nata per concessione del Marchese di Saluzzo nel XII secolo. Importante sede religiosa e agricola, nasce su un terreno bonificato dai monaci e riveste da subito una centralità storica per il Marchesato. Oggi si può visitare nella sua completezza.
Revello
A Revello potrete invece trovare la Cappella Marchionale, residenza voluta nella seconda Metà del ‘400 dal Marchese Ludovico II (la cui tomba si trova proprio in San Giovanni a Saluzzo). La residenza fu poi utilizzata da Margherita di Foix, vedova di Ludovico II, nella prima metà del ‘500. La cappella Marchionale è completamente affrescata tra il 1480 e il 1512 da Hans Clemer e bottega. Oggi è visitabile, fa parte della sede del Comune di Revello.

Castellar
Partendo dalla stazione di Saluzzo è possibile raggiungere Castellar un piccolo borgo che vi accoglierà con il suo nobile castello. Per vederlo dovete raggiungere la cima della sua collina. Pedalando attraverserete un vero museo all'aria aperta...museo di reperti storici? di sculture? No, un museo di spaventapasseri! Vi assicuriamo che sono uno più bello dell'altro. Se capitate a Castellar nelle prime due domeniche di maggio potrete partecipare alla festa delle 'sentinelle dei campi' organizzata dall'Associazione Culturale Spaventapasseri.

An itinerary to discover a unique corner of the Valle d'Aosta, where natural environments and breathtaking views.
They are revealed at every stroke of the pedal, under the majestic silhouette of the Matterhorn, or "the Great Becca" as the people in the valley call it.
You can cycle through beautiful chestnut woods, meadows, fields and picturesque mountain villages, where they are still visible.
Remnants of the life of a time like ancient water mills and traditional rye bread ovens.
Once the bike is loaded on the cableway, in a few minutes you can reach the village of Chamois, the Pearl of the Alps and the only Italian town not reachable by car.
From here we continue along the splendid farm that, between a panoramic view and the other, leads up to La Magdeleine. Its 7 mills have been perfectly restored and recovered for ethnographic purposes.

You pedal between "pajare" and dry stone walls, peasant architectures that have defined the very identity of the Salento countryside, protecting vegetable gardens and olive trees.
The inland on the hills, just a little above sea level, gives way to Gallipoli for a long ride along the seaside to Torre dell'Alto, a stage for magical sunsets on the cliff between the green of Porto Selvaggio Park and the blue of the Ionian Sea.
The starting point of this route is Nardò. Pedaling, you pass through the municipalities of: Galatone, Sannicola, Chiesanuova, Alezio, Gallipoli, Rivabella, Lido Conchiglie, Santa Maria al Bagno, Santa Caterina di Nardò, Cenate.
The route mainly develops on asphalt roads (about 90%) with low traffic; in the summer months of July and August, the coastal road is instead characterized by heavy traffic.
What are 'pajare'?
Pajare are ancient rural buildings typical of the Apulia region. These structures, dating back to prehistoric times and used until the 19th century, represent a unique example of traditional rural architecture.
Pajare are entirely built in dry stone, without the use of mortar, and have a conical or trullo-shaped structure, with a dome roof resembling a beehive. This particular shape was designed to ensure better resistance to the weather and greater durability over time.
Originally used as temporary shelters for farmers during working hours in the fields, pajare have often been restored and transformed into accommodations for tourists who want to experience a unique stay immersed in nature and the history of Apulia.

La popolazione dal ‘700 è profondamente devota a S. Egidio, figura presente nell’arte, nella storia e nel costume del paese.
Tra i luoghi di principale interesse: la Cappella di San Cataldo del XIII sec., la Chiesa di S. Maria delle Grazie, la Chiesa di S. Egidio e quella di S. Nicola, Palazzo Arcieri e Palazzo Gioia. Tra le risorse naturalistiche le sorgenti di acque minerali La Calda e l’enorme sagoma di un pesce fossile di 30 milioni di anni fa in località Solarino di Iannazzo.

What to see, historical to the San Giacomo Pass
Built from 1929 by the Enel to be able to carry out the dams of Lake Castel and Toggia. With yours or ours e bikes we shall stop at some places in the city center like Market (Adamič Lundrovo Nabrežje 1), Three Bridges (Prešerov trg 1) and Congress Squre (Kongresni trg 15).
Later on, we are going to focus on his works outside of the city center: we shall reach the area of Tivoli park (Celovška cesta 23) , ride along Roman walls (Mirje 19), reach Krakovo and his home area Trnovo (Karunova ulica 4). Here we shall visit his home-museum.
After lunch in a local restaurant, we suggest to bike:
1: along Ljubljanica river toward Ljubljana Marshes (Črna vas 48) where his famous church has been built almost 100 years ago
2: to continue to Ljubljana's cementary Žale (Med hmeljniki 2) and back to the city center with a stop at another Plečnik's work: a franciscan church in Šiška (Černetova ulica 20).
This is a full day tour, easy (flat terrain), comfortable ride.

THE LOWER SABINA AND THE TIBURTINA
The first Apennine stage of the GTL moves towards the border with Abruzzo, near the ancient Via Tiburtina Valeria: to this state road, built on the route of the Roman road commissioned by the consul who extended its course towards the Adriatic from Tibur (today Tivoli), however, the route prefers secondary roads on the other side of the Aniene, sometimes on dirt roads, others on paved roads with little traffic. The Aniene river is the constant of the entire stage: squeezed between the motorway and the state road, in fact, our route winds up and down in the valley carved by this tributary of the Tiber, once sacred to the Romans, in a humid and shady setting.We leave Tivoli by crossing the city gates and climbing imperceptibly towards the mountains: on the right the Lucretili complex and the Monte Catillo Nature Reserve, on the left the Simbruini. From the various villages on the Tiburtina there are countless hiking trails and detours to the peaks.Thus pass the villages and hamlets, built in white stone and increasingly similar to those of Abruzzo: Castel Madama, Vicovaro, Mandela, Pereto, and finally Roviano and Arsoli with their respective castles, a residue of a noble past. But the real tourist attraction of these areas is Nature, with its unspoiled woods and mountains.The difference in height is fluctuating but easy, the vegetation gradually becomes thicker, you gradually gain altitude and the Rome / Avezzano railway line is always there next to you for any problem. From Mandela there is also a route obtained from a former railway that leads to the beautiful Subiaco, certainly worthy of a detour

BRACCIANO / ANGUILLARA
A spectacular stage all around Lake Bracciano, to discover its treasures scattered around the villages that overlook it, almost entirely on roads without traffic, bridleways and dirt paths but easy to follow. From Bracciano we exit northwards following the railway line along dirt roads or dirt roads, in the thick of the woods that hide the panorama of the lake and then make it appear suddenly from time to time: we thus arrive in Manziana, a beautiful village near the centuries-old forest of the same name, and then via a bridleway in the countryside to the Antica Monterano, ghost town that knew various eras, each of which has left a mark of its passage: from the Etruscan tombs to the Roman walls, passing through the papal aqueduct and a couple of sculptures by Bernini and the evocative ruins of the seventeenth-century Church of San Bonaventura, which remained so since the town was abandoned following the Napoleonic invasion. Still passing through dirt roads and dirt roads we arrive in Oriolo Romano, another charming village on the northern side of the lake, and from here we take the cycle path of the woods, which crosses the chestnut groves of Calandrina and then descends to Trevignano Romano, right on the shores of Bracciano. Romanesque Church of Palagione
After visiting Volterra's historic center, the bike route continues gently descending into the verdant countryside, where cypress-lined avenues and olive groves create the quintessential Tuscan backdrop. The first destination, Palagione, emerges after about 5 kilometers of relaxed pedaling through this pastoral paradise. The highlight of Palagione is undoubtedly its exquisite Romanesque church, a masterpiece of medieval religious architecture dating back to the 12th century. Standing in serene isolation amid the surrounding fields, this ancient place of worship invites visitors to step back in time. The simple yet elegant façade of the church, characterized by local sandstone and precise geometric designs, exemplifies the Romanesque architectural style that flourished throughout Tuscany. Inside, the cool and silent environment offers a moment of rest and contemplation, while the ancient stone columns and surviving frescoes speak of centuries of devotion and artistic expression. The peaceful churchyard provides the perfect place for a brief stop and perhaps a snack.
Pignano
Leaving Palagione behind, with the e-bikes you effortlessly reach a landscape that unfolds like a living Renaissance painting. The route to Pignano follows ancient paths that have connected these settlements for millennia, offering constantly changing views of vineyards, wheat fields, and distant hilltop villages. After about 7 kilometers of gentle undulations, you arrive at Pignano, a perfectly preserved medieval village that seems frozen in time. This enchanting settlement, with its cluster of stone buildings centered around a historic manor house, embodies the timeless charm of rural Tuscany. Pignano's narrow cobblestone streets invite exploration, revealing hidden courtyards adorned with flowering plants and glimpses of daily life that have changed little over the centuries. The village's elevated position offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, with Volterra visible in the distance on clear days. A small café in the center of the village offers the opportunity to sample local specialties, including the region's renowned pecorino cheese, cured meats, and robust red wines.
The Natural Splendor of Mazzolla
The route skirts the edge of the Berignone Forest Nature Reserve, a protected area of remarkable biodiversity. This ancient woodland, home to wild boars, deer, and numerous bird species, offers a strong contrast to the cultivated fields crossed earlier in the day. Mazzolla itself is perched on a natural terrace, giving visitors breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and distant hills. This tiny village, with fewer than 100 permanent residents, is centered around the impressive Villa Viti, a 19th-century mansion built by alabaster merchant Giuseppe Viti. The village square, shaded by ancient linden trees, offers an idyllic spot to rest and rehydrate while absorbing the tranquil atmosphere that has remained largely unchanged for generations. Return to Volterra
The final stretch of the bike adventure toward Volterra opens up panoramic views of the Val di Cecina, with its mosaic of fields, olive groves, and vineyards stretching toward the distant horizon. The afternoon light bathes the landscape in a golden glow, creating perfect lighting conditions for photography enthusiasts. The ancient city of Volterra gradually appears, with its medieval towers and defensive walls silhouetted against the sky. Your approach takes you past the remains of the Etruscan necropolis, a poignant reminder of the three thousand years of continuous human habitation in this region. The route culminates in a truly spectacular finale with the entrance to Volterra through the iconic Porta all'Arco, an Etruscan gate dating back to the 4th century BC. This ancient portal, with its characteristic three weathered stone heads watching over all who pass beneath, provides an appropriate conclusion to a journey that has traversed both the physical landscape and the rich tapestry of history that defines this remarkable corner of Tuscany.
volterra, a volterra
A special path for Jubilee in the capital of Christendom. This 16-mile religious character path is attributed to the priest San filippo Neri and was a two-day pedestrian path linked to the pilgrimage of the 7 churches that during the jubilee had to visit in order to have a pardon.
It is part of the port San.Paolo percurring the cycling of viale aventine costing the Colesseo and its beautiful archaeological park is thus coming to the beautiful Church of S. Maria Maggiore, the church dedicated to the Madonna, is then going through the Esquilino neighbourhood, is proceeding on a tiburtina by arriving at S. Lorenzo outside the Mura near the monumental cemetery of the Verano. It then proceeds around the mural belt of the aurelian walls and comes to the Church of S. Croce in Jerusalem where it is preserved part of the Cross on the crucifix Jesus, to follow comes to S. Giovanni in Laterano with his splendid laternanese palace his baptistery and the famous Holy Scale.
Following by proceeding on often busy roads you come to Metronia port and costing the walls and its park, its Catacombs comes on the Appia Antica where the church of San Sebastian is situated on the ancient Via delle Seven churches equip Tor Marancia and the Garbatella and arrive in São Paulo outside the Mura.So equipped with the city with its trastevere Testaccio neighbourhoods comes to the Basilica of Rome San pietro, the center of Christendom. A religious tour but filled with spiritual meanings.

On this loop trail in the Taleggio valley, we venture to discover a valley that is described as a 'little Switzerland of Bergamo'. Perhaps because this corner of the Bergamasque mountains is particularly green, gentle and welcoming. The route ascends the valley from San Giovanni Bianco along the road carved into the steep walls of the narrow gorge overlooking the Enna stream.
