Romanesque Church of Palagione
After visiting Volterra's historic center, the bike route continues gently descending into the verdant countryside, where cypress-lined avenues and olive groves create the quintessential Tuscan backdrop. The first destination, Palagione, emerges after about 5 kilometers of relaxed pedaling through this pastoral paradise. The highlight of Palagione is undoubtedly its exquisite Romanesque church, a masterpiece of medieval religious architecture dating back to the 12th century. Standing in serene isolation amid the surrounding fields, this ancient place of worship invites visitors to step back in time. The simple yet elegant façade of the church, characterized by local sandstone and precise geometric designs, exemplifies the Romanesque architectural style that flourished throughout Tuscany. Inside, the cool and silent environment offers a moment of rest and contemplation, while the ancient stone columns and surviving frescoes speak of centuries of devotion and artistic expression. The peaceful churchyard provides the perfect place for a brief stop and perhaps a snack.
Pignano
Leaving Palagione behind, with the e-bikes you effortlessly reach a landscape that unfolds like a living Renaissance painting. The route to Pignano follows ancient paths that have connected these settlements for millennia, offering constantly changing views of vineyards, wheat fields, and distant hilltop villages. After about 7 kilometers of gentle undulations, you arrive at Pignano, a perfectly preserved medieval village that seems frozen in time. This enchanting settlement, with its cluster of stone buildings centered around a historic manor house, embodies the timeless charm of rural Tuscany. Pignano's narrow cobblestone streets invite exploration, revealing hidden courtyards adorned with flowering plants and glimpses of daily life that have changed little over the centuries. The village's elevated position offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, with Volterra visible in the distance on clear days. A small café in the center of the village offers the opportunity to sample local specialties, including the region's renowned pecorino cheese, cured meats, and robust red wines.
The Natural Splendor of Mazzolla
The route skirts the edge of the Berignone Forest Nature Reserve, a protected area of remarkable biodiversity. This ancient woodland, home to wild boars, deer, and numerous bird species, offers a strong contrast to the cultivated fields crossed earlier in the day. Mazzolla itself is perched on a natural terrace, giving visitors breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and distant hills. This tiny village, with fewer than 100 permanent residents, is centered around the impressive Villa Viti, a 19th-century mansion built by alabaster merchant Giuseppe Viti. The villa's eclectic architectural style, combining elements of neoclassical grandeur with more whimsical oriental influences, reflects the cosmopolitan tastes of its original owner who traveled the world. The village square, shaded by ancient linden trees, offers an idyllic spot to rest and rehydrate while absorbing the tranquil atmosphere that has remained largely unchanged for generations. Local residents, accustomed to cyclists passing through their village, often greet visitors with warm smiles and, occasionally, tales of local history and traditions.
Return to Volterra
The final stretch of the bike adventure toward Volterra opens up panoramic views of the Val di Cecina, with its mosaic of fields, olive groves, and vineyards stretching toward the distant horizon. The afternoon light bathes the landscape in a golden glow, creating perfect lighting conditions for photography enthusiasts. The ancient city of Volterra gradually appears, with its medieval towers and defensive walls silhouetted against the sky. Your approach takes you past the remains of the Etruscan necropolis, a poignant reminder of the three thousand years of continuous human habitation in this region. The route culminates in a truly spectacular finale with the entrance to Volterra through the iconic Porta all'Arco, an Etruscan gate dating back to the 4th century BC. This ancient portal, with its characteristic three weathered stone heads watching over all who pass beneath, provides an appropriate conclusion to a journey that has traversed both the physical landscape and the rich tapestry of history that defines this remarkable corner of Tuscany.

Reach the Pass enjoying beautiful views over the valley and the artificial lake Paduli. Cycle downhill along secondary roads immersed in beautiful sceneries and landscapes of the National Park as far as Comano, small village with an ancient tradition in horse breeding.

Partendo da Brisighella saliamo la carrozzabile che porta alla Rocca e sale verso Monte Rontana. Da subito il panorama si apre sulle colline circostanti, i vigneti del Sangiovese e sui calanchi che caratterizzano la Vena del Gesso Romagnola. Continuiamo su un falsopiano alla base degli affioramenti rocciosi del gesso per scollinare e portarci nella valle del Senio. Spettacolare la vista lungo la discesa che porta in localita' Zattaglia, continuando poi lungo il fondovalle raggiungendo le prime colline in vista della citta' di Faenza. Arrivati in Piazza del Popolo, s'impone una sosta per la visita alla citta' o per un pranzo a base di piadina romagnola. Per chi lo desidera molto interessante la visita al Museo Internazionale della Ceramica che espone pregiati pezzi dell'arte maiolicara faentina e non solo. Riprendendo l'itinerario si risale la valle del Lamone, sempre pedalando tra i vitigni locali, fino ad arrivare a Brisighella.

You can reach Saluzzo by train along the Savigliano-Saluzzo-Cuneo line. The line is managed by Arenaways, our partner in promoting this train+bike experience.
The BikeSquare Monviso rental companies will take care of delivering the e-bikes at the station and illustrate the route that you can follow from the BikeSquare app.
The route is simple and allows you to reach the center of Saluzzo and get to the top where the most beautiful buildings linked to the history of this town and the Marquisate of Saluzzo are concentrated.
The route continues to Staffarda and from here, after visiting the Abbey and admiring its magnificent cloister, you can pedal towards Revello which welcomes you to the Po Valley - and then return to Saluzzo.
It is advisable to book this experience at least 2 days in advance so as to allow the rental agents at the BikeSquare Monviso rental point to organize the delivery.

Beautiful climb from Caprie to the base of Rocca Sella, passing through Peroldrado, Campambiardo, Camparnaldo, and Celle. Ideal route for a 2-3 hour ride through nature on a pleasant asphalt road that climbs for almost 700 m in altitude to reach the alpine village Comba where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Sacra di San Michele and the whole the lower Val Susa. Before Comba there is the cozy Rifugio Rocca Sella, a must - visit because of a good glass of wine and a hot meal.

1° giorno
Ritrovo a Canelli nel primo pomeriggio.
Partenza con il proprio mezzo in direzione Bubbio che raggiungiamo in circa mezz’ora. Qui ci attende una Agrichef al femminile. Ci rechiamo, con una breve passeggiata, a visitare la prima cantina che in Italia ha ottenuto la certificazione biologica. Sorseggiando i vini scopriamo l’essenza del lavoro nella vigna, la passione che questa famiglia dedica alle viti.
Inebriati dai vini e dalle storie siamo pronti per la cena di benvenuto. Degusteremo piatti della tradizione langarola preparati con prodotti del territorio (cena di benvenuto in agriturismo inclusa, vini esclusi).
Pernottamento con colazione presso l’agriturismo che ci accoglierà durante l’intero soggiorno. Camera doppia con bagno privato.
2° giorno
Dopo un’ottima colazione siamo pronti a cavalcare le nostre e-bike Il percorso di 40 km si snoda tra le colline dei vigneti che producono i famosi vini Asti Spumante e Moscato d’Asti. Iniziamo il percorso su strade secondarie tra filari e noccioleti. Arrivati sulla collina scorgiamo il fiume Belbo da un lato e il Bormida dall’altro. in lontananza le Alpi chiudono l’orizzonte.
Scendiamo a Santo Stefano Belbo, paese natale di Cesare Pavese, dove facciamo una sosta presso lo storico caffè della piazza. Respiriamo l’aria di paese e… tra le persone ci pare scorgere il grande scrittore. Visitiamo i luoghi in tranquillità.
Riprendiamo la strada in direzione Canelli, il paese di antiche origini, nel cuore della produzione del Moscato. Visiteremo una Cooperativa Sociale dove l’inclusione e la produzione biologica si incontrano. Pranzo libero. Nel pomeriggio rientriamo a Bubbio passando da due pittoreschi borghi. Ci riposiamo nel prato dell’agriturismo dove, in attesa della cena con specialità langarole, possiamo degustare dell’ottimo vino (facoltativo) raccontandoci la giornata.
3° giorno
Dopo la colazione siamo pronti per dirigerci verso Monastero Bormida, dove ci immergiamo nell’atmosfera medioevale tra le stradine del paese. Attraversiamo il Bormida che dà il nome all’intera valle e il paesaggio cambia. Le viti lasciano il posto a prati, noccioleti e boschi. Ai bordi della strada caprette brucano l’erba e ci ricordano che siamo nel territorio di produzione della Robiola di Roccaverano. La strada sale dolcemente e arriviamo a San Giorgio Scarampi. Un borgo dove il tempo si è fermato. Lo sguardo spazia dalle Alpi agli Appennini liguri. Riprendiamo la via che in discesa ci conduce verso Bubbio.
Torniamo all’agriturismo per il pranzo (libero).
Qualche acquisto gastronomico ed è tempo di saluti. Negli occhi e nel cuore ci portiamo la gente, i colori e i sapori di questo lembo di terra di Langa.

This is a route that will allow you to cycle both on paved roads and partly on dirt paths. It is a medium-difficulty route that mostly develops over flat terrain, except for a climb of about 3 kilometers that leads to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Boden.
The oasis of Borgo Tenso, Madonna del Boden, and Lake Mergozzo
Starting from the BikeSquare rental in Premosello-Chiovenda, you will cycle towards the Natural Oasis of Bosco Tenso, the ideal place to seek shade from the sun and enjoy the coolness of the forest composed of oaks and chestnut trees, as well as observe birds and the variety of wildlife that inhabits the area. You will continue cycling towards Ornavasso to reach the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Boden. Thirsty? You can quench your thirst by filling your water bottle at the fountain from which healing water flows. You can then continue cycling along the Toce cycle path until you reach Mergozzo.
Here, you can ride along the shores of Lake Mergozzo and stop at one of the local establishments in the area.
You will return to Premosello-Chiovenda by retracing the Toce cycle path.

The Path Pasolini is a cycle-pedestrian path that from Rome leads to Ostia along the left bank of the Tiber River.
This path has been created, and is unraveled and maintained, by volunteers. Our tour starts at the Casal Bernocchi station just 15 with the trench from Pyramid.
You can choose to move with both the traditional bike and the ebike. The route takes place predominantly on the embankments of the Tiber and therefore in plain plain, with the exception of two small packages to be overcome midway.
This round must be considered easy. It takes place on stilled roads and trails of clay courts that do not present particular difficulties. The sights are idyllic with the river Tevere slowly flowing to the right, fields and pasture blossoms to the left and a regoglish vegetation full of life along the Tevere's embankments. Particularly evocative of the views from the two packages on the whole of the Tiber Valley and towards the Eternal City with the tops of the Apennines in the background in the clear days.
During the 17 Km from Casal Bernocchi to Ostia Antica we will be completely immersed in the countryside green without practically cross-checking motorized vehicles. Arriving after about 2 and a half hours of quiet pedalds at the picturesque medieval village of Ostia Antica with the Renaissance castle of Julius II and behind the enormous excavations of the ancient port city.
After the brief visit to the archaeological park we will continue through the beautiful Ostia pineta in the direction of the waterfront to finally approve the modern Porto di Ostia at the mouth of the Tiber. Here you can have lunch in one of the many restaurantines. Return to Rome in the early afternoon with the trench from the Lido Centre station that takes about half an hour.

We invite you to join us on a discovery of Slovenian most notable architect life and work: Jože Plečnik.
With yours or ours e bikes we shall stop at some places in the city center like Market (Adamič Lundrovo Nabrežje 1), Three Bridges (Prešerov trg 1) and Congress Squre (Kongresni trg 15).
Later on, we are going to focus on his works outside of the city center: we shall reach the area of Tivoli park (Celovška cesta 23) , ride along Roman walls (Mirje 19), reach Krakovo and his home area Trnovo (Karunova ulica 4). Here we shall visit his home-museum.
After lunch in a local restaurant, we suggest to bike:
1: along Ljubljanica river toward Ljubljana Marshes (Črna vas 48) where his famous church has been built almost 100 years ago
2: to continue to Ljubljana's cementary Žale (Med hmeljniki 2) and back to the city center with a stop at another Plečnik's work: a franciscan church in Šiška (Černetova ulica 20).
This is a full day tour, easy (flat terrain), comfortable ride.

Questo anello nel Parco della Vena del Gesso Romagnola ci porta a visitare un ambiente molto vario e scenografico, ricco di testimonianze storiche e naturalistiche. Salendo da Brisighella subito ci si porta nel paesaggio brullo e denudato dei calanchi pliocenici che caratterizzano le prima colline della Vena del Gesso. Scendendo nella valle del Senio il paesaggio si fa piu' morbido e caratterizzato dai vigneti e vegetazione piu' lussureggiante. Presto si arriva a Riolo Terme dove spicca la rocca del XIV secolo che si puo' visitare, orario permettendo. Continuiamo verso Zattaglia e saliamo il crinale di Rontana da dove la vista spazia fino al Parco del Casentino e la Romagna toscana. Scendendo verso Brisighella ci si puo' fermare alla Rocca di Brisighella per una piacevole visita e per un punto panoramico privilegiato su tutta la valle.

La Selva del Lamone si trova tra il Lazio e la Toscana e si estende tra i comuni di Ischia, Farnese e Pitigliano.
E' uno dei boschi più selvaggi della regione e si estende su un'antichissima colata lavica, si presume la stessa dell'esplosione che ha dato origine al lago di Bolsena e protegge al suo interno numerose specie di flora e di fauna.
La Riserva fa arte del SIC (Sito di Importanza Comunitaria) e del ZPS (Zona di Protezione Speciale).
Attraversando il bosco si possono ammirare pregiate testimonianze storiche e archeologiche, oltre alle bellissime cascate naturali: quella del Salabrone e quella del Pelicotonno.
Pedalando si attraversa anche Farnese dove è possibile pedalare nel borgo di Pinocchio dove sono state giratae delle scene del film di Comencini.

This route of about 45 kilometers starting from Montevecchio, will make you explore a fantastic area rich in history and immersed in unspoiled nature.
After crossing the mining area, head towards the sea,
Piscinas beach with its dunes will be a perfect setting for a nice souvenir photo.
Proceed along the coast for about 10 kilometers, in the tourist resort of Portu Maga you leave the sea and plunge back into the mountains with a climb surrounded by greenery that brings us back to altitude and allows us to return to the starting point by pedaling in safety on secondary roads with little traffic, with unique views.

The itinerary leads to the discovery of a stretch of the Via Francigena and the Castello di Quart, through the natural environments typical of the Aosta alluvial plain and the slopes exposed to the sun dell'adret.
The beautiful dirt roads that wind through the broadleaf woods follow a large part of the network of irrigation canals that unmistakably characterizes the rural landscape of the Valle d'Aosta.
Along one of these brooks, known as Pompillard, you can reach the splendid medieval aqueduct bridge located in upstream of the city of Aosta.

Enjoyable and challenging route around the lakes of Avigliana, 20 km from Turin. Steep climbs (up to 20%) and technical trails. This route is not to be underestimated due to its numerous uphill stretches, requiring decent technical skills for both ascent and descent through narrow and uneven paths. Brief stretches on asphalt were necessary to connect various sections.
Highly recommend taking the time to admire the lakes from panoramic viewpoints and explore the medieval center of Avigliana, with its numerous points of artistic and architectural interest. The starting point (with parking by the roadside near a hotel-restaurant, respecting reserved spaces) is near a roundabout with a beautiful monument honoring Giovanni Valetti, a cyclist who won two Giri d'Italia. The beginning of the route skirts the small lake of Avigliana before immediately entering the woods with short but challenging climbs. Route length: 30 km Elevation gain: approximately 600m.

Path of undoubted naturalistic and historical value, at the same time rich in charm and evocation. Along the way it is possible to visit several vineyards where you can participate in a characteristic tasting of the upper Frascati (booking is required). You pass by the streets of the centre of Grottaferrata by admiring the spelndida Abbey of San Nile. The itinerary follows the ancient route of the Latin way, along which it is possible to witness a pleasant sight of Castel Savelli and its ancient walls, of course in addition to the fantastic view of the city of Rome. Going back to Frascati with its gardens and Along the avenues it is possible to eat at the typical fraschettes of the Romani Castles.

in Cordoba
A rather long stage of about 70 km in the Ciocian countryside, between historical traditions and peasant folklore, wonderful medieval villages and sites of naturalistic interest with a wild and unripe charm.Laving Cassino and its imposing Abbey that overlooks it, we flank the course of two major arteries that lead south: the Autostrada del Sole and the Rome/Cassino railway line, which we cross several times along secondary roads. However, we remain on secondary roads and foothills, taking advantage of the already existing route of the Way of St. Benedict at least up to Roccasecca, a medieval town that competes with Aquinas for the birthplace of St. Thomas. We are a stone's throw from the beautiful Melfa Gorges, which certainly deserve a small detour from the GTL route. Continuing, we embrace the route of another great cycle path, the Eurovelo5, or via Romea / Francigena. We are now in the valley of the Ciociarian countryside, squeezed between two pre-Apennine chains: on the left the Lepini Mountains, on the right the Prenestini Mountains. Deviating from the cycle path towards the former, we have the Isoletta-San Giovanni Incarico Natural Park, a river and forest reserve, and the beautiful Pastena Caves. The road continues following the course of the Sacco river between ups and downs and castles, such as those of Roccasecca or Ceccano, until it reaches Frosinone, the third regional capital touched by the GTL.
