A challenging and fascinating stage, the first in the land of the Etruscans: from here to the end of the GTL, for its entire northern arc, we will cross necropolises, tuff walls and roads cut into the stone and woods, the legacy of a people still partly mysterious and then merged into Roman civilization. From Stimigliano we cross two large "barriers", the Tiber first and then the Autostrada del Sole, to find ourselves in front of the only great giant that stands alone in the Agro Romano: Monte Soratte. With its unmistakable profiles, it is a limestone massif from which numerous hiking and mountain bike trails start, and has always stimulated the imagination of poets, writers and travelers, first of all Horace. To move around these hilly and often winding territories, the GTL 12 uses two European cycle paths, the Eurovelo 5 Romea Francigena and the Eurovelo 7 We continue along winding roads to Sant'Oreste, then Faleria, an ancient settlement of an ancient Lazio population, the Falisci, until we reach one of the pearls of Upper Lazio: Calcata, perched on a block of tuff in the middle of the Treja valley, is a village that seems to isolate itself from the rest of the world, once a refuge for hippie municipalities, today for craft shops. We continue descending into the woods of the Treja river valley, where there are also many paths and bridleways for fascinating detours such as the one to the Monte Gelato Waterfalls, a real locus amoenus used as a set for many films. From here we make a long bend to cross the Treja river to the north (there are no crossing passages except for very bumpy and impervious), and reach the two pretty villages of Nepi, a Borgia stronghold, and Civita Castellana, which gathers around its Fort San Gallo. Still through the countryside and woods, this time on the western bank of the Tiber, the last kilometers of the stage to Orte flow, also perched on a tuffaceous block and certainly worth a visit.

This is a route that will allow you to cycle both on paved roads and partly on dirt paths. It is a medium-difficulty route that mostly develops over flat terrain, except for a climb of about 3 kilometers that leads to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Boden.
The oasis of Borgo Tenso, Madonna del Boden, and Lake Mergozzo
Starting from the BikeSquare rental in Premosello-Chiovenda, you will cycle towards the Natural Oasis of Bosco Tenso, the ideal place to seek shade from the sun and enjoy the coolness of the forest composed of oaks and chestnut trees, as well as observe birds and the variety of wildlife that inhabits the area. You will continue cycling towards Ornavasso to reach the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Boden. Thirsty? You can quench your thirst by filling your water bottle at the fountain from which healing water flows. You can then continue cycling along the Toce cycle path until you reach Mergozzo.
Here, you can ride along the shores of Lake Mergozzo and stop at one of the local establishments in the area.
You will return to Premosello-Chiovenda by retracing the Toce cycle path.

A special path for Jubilee in the capital of Christendom. This 16-mile religious character path is attributed to the priest San filippo Neri and was a two-day pedestrian path linked to the pilgrimage of the 7 churches that during the jubilee had to visit in order to have a pardon.
It is part of the port San.Paolo percurring the cycling of viale aventine costing the Colesseo and its beautiful archaeological park is thus coming to the beautiful Church of S. Maria Maggiore, the church dedicated to the Madonna, is then going through the Esquilino neighbourhood, is proceeding on a tiburtina by arriving at S. Lorenzo outside the Mura near the monumental cemetery of the Verano. It then proceeds around the mural belt of the aurelian walls and comes to the Church of S. Il giro che proponiamo da Rimini a Santarcangelo di Romagna Vi farà letteralmente innamorare. Si parte dal parco XXV aprile di rimini, dove si può ammirare il famoso ponte di Tiberio, ponte Romano costruito tra il 14 d.C. e il 21 d.C. che oggi risulta ancora percorribile anche in bicicletta. Lasciandoci il ponte alle spalle, si prosegue lungo la pista ciclabile che costeggia il fiume Marecchia per circa una decina di chilometri, da questo momento in poi ci si immerge completamente nella natura fino a raggiungere Santarcangelo di Romagna. How to visit Belveglio
Our tour starts from Ortondo’s B&B in Cortiglione.
After a short ride on the crest of the hills surrounding the town, you will arrive at “Bricco di Belveglio”, a place wherer it is possible to have a 360 degrees view of the surrounding landscape.
Belveglio is a town of 336 inhabitants in the province of Asti. In the Middle Ages the town was known with the name of Malamorte. It is likely that the toponym derives from the continuous struggles that raged in the territory, such as to consider them lands of bad death. The first lord of Malamorte was Raimondo Turco (1003 - 1092), coming from a noble family of Asti.
The Aleramic marquises of Incisa became masters of the locality after the descent of Federico Barbarossa in 1155, who defeated and set fire to the city of Asti, but after the peace of Costanza (1183) they were forced to return it to the Municipality of Asti. Following the civil wars in Asti between the Solaro and Guttuari Malamorte factions, many destructions followed one another, up to the passage of the city of Asti under the domination of Luchino Visconti.
In 1387, the village appears in Valentina Visconti's dowry for her marriage to Luigi di Valois and probably in this period the locality changed its name to Belvedere (Bellumviderium Astensium).
In 1806, Napoleon Bonaparte included the village in the Department of Marengo and in this period the name changed (the last one) from Belvedere to Belveglio.
The route winds through the streets of the center of the village until it leaves the main road to start a long secondary road immersed in the surrounding woods.
Rocchetta Tanaro and its Natural Park
The track will lead you to the borders of the Rocchetta Tanaro’s Natural Park.
Pay attention to the descent on the gravel road that will allow you to enter the park and enjoy, in summer, some shade and coolness.
Leaving the main dirt road you will find yourself near the town of Cerro Tanaro, from where a long cycle path will start on the banks of the Tanaro river.
At the end of the track, a small tunnel will take you past the railway to reach (this time on asphalt) the town of Rocchetta Tanaro.
In the open countryside, once on the banks of the Tanaro, stands the small church of Santa Maria de Flexio with a Romanesque apse.
In the Sant'Emiliano region stands the homonymous church, formerly a dependency of the Abbey of Azzano which extended its jurisdiction over farmhouses and lands in the Rocchetta area bordering "Roca".
In the concentric, the Salone Santa Caterina, once the Church of the Confraternity of the ss. Annunziata or dei "Battuti", it preserves a chiselled fresco under study by the Superintendency of Artistic Heritage, Romanesque columns and corbels.
The parish church built in 1700 on a pre-existing medieval chapel dedicated to Saint Stephen, has a Romanesque bell tower dated 1474. It preserves a marble stoup with the engraved "Comunitas Rocheta 1476", a painting attributed to the Caccia school, a painting by Michelangelo Pittatore, an ivory crucifix by 1700 of Provençal school.
Also worth seeing is the Rocchetta Tanaro Natural Park, where the presence of “Il Frutteto della Memoria” and the "large beech" (called "Faggio Emilio") of the Val du Gè (Valle del Gelo), an ultra-centuries-old specimen over 25 meters and with a diameter of the crown of around 20 meters that grows to the minimum altitude for Piedmont (130 meters above sea level), and represents a reminder of the beech woods spread throughout the area at the end of the last glacial period, and the Integral Nature Reserve " Il Verneto ", WWF oasis.
In Rocchetta there are also two museums: the “Tanaro and Contadinerie Museum”, with the reconstruction of some typically Rocchettese peasant life environments, and the Museum of wine labels, an ideal journey through the Italian regions which, through its graphics, invites visitors to discover the best national wines;
Also worthy of note is the Castle of the Marquises Incisa della Rocchetta, where for centuries the wines of the Marquises Incisa della Rocchetta were produced in the cellars, transferred since 1994 to "La Corte Chiusa" (an ancient family property).
A cylindrical tower and parts of the building remain of the ancient medieval castle. The castle is now privately owned (not open to visitors).
Continuing along the track, you will arrive to take the road towards the Mogliotti’s Road to rejoin the track of the starting point again.

This easy 15 km loop passes through the hamlets of Pianca, Brembella, Camerata Cornello and Cornello dei Tasso.
Today, carriage roads make it easy to reach the myriad of villages, more or less substantial, scattered over the vast territory stretching at the base of Monte Cancervo. Some of these villages are true hidden gems, such as the small, softly shaped hamlet of Pianca, situated at the base of Mount Cancervo.
Camerata Cornello is a village steeped in history: it seems that the first settlements were established as early as the early Middle Ages when, following the barbarian invasions, the townspeople took refuge in the valley. Over the course of history, the valley inhabitants built various small churches and chapels that have retained their original charm over the years and still preserve their valuable historical and architectural heritage. The buildings in Camerata and its districts are an excellent testimony to the rural architecture of the valley. The buildings adapt perfectly to the morphology of the land, taking advantage of the characteristics of the terrain; the main material used is local stone cut into large blocks bound with mortar.
Cornello is a village of medieval origin that owes its name to the ancient Tasso family, whose most famous member is undoubtedly Torquato Tasso. The Tasso family already had a company of 'post masters' in the mid-12th century and came to manage the mail service of the Habsburg Empire during the 16th century. In the Middle Ages, the village of Cornello was an important centre for trade and the passage of people and goods thanks to the presence of the via Mercatorum, the merchants' road, which connected Bergamo to Valtellina and linked some of the most important centres in the Brembana Valley.
When, in 1592, the construction of the Priula Road began, commissioned by the Venetian government to directly connect Bergamo to Valtellina without passing through Spanish territories, Cornello dei Tasso found itself isolated and lost its commercial importance, giving way to a period of decline. The new road, in fact, passed along the valley floor, separating the village from the new road system. The isolation of the village, however, favoured the preservation of its original urban structure, which, except for some alterations in the second half of the 20th century, still appears in its medieval appearance, a requisite that has allowed Cornello to be included among "The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy".

La Selva del Lamone si trova tra il Lazio e la Toscana e si estende tra i comuni di Ischia, Farnese e Pitigliano.
E' uno dei boschi più selvaggi della regione e si estende su un'antichissima colata lavica, si presume la stessa dell'esplosione che ha dato origine al lago di Bolsena e protegge al suo interno numerose specie di flora e di fauna.
La Riserva fa arte del SIC (Sito di Importanza Comunitaria) e del ZPS (Zona di Protezione Speciale).
Attraversando il bosco si possono ammirare pregiate testimonianze storiche e archeologiche, oltre alle bellissime cascate naturali: quella del Salabrone e quella del Pelicotonno.
Pedalando si attraversa anche Farnese dove è possibile pedalare nel borgo di Pinocchio dove sono state giratae delle scene del film di Comencini.

Partendo dalla piazza di Summonte , vi immeterete direttamente sulla statale 374. Dopo 2 km comincerete la lunga salita che vi porterà al Santuario di Montevergine e lungo la strada resterete affascinati dal panorama che vi troverete ad ogni tornante.
Percorsi 11 km , vi troverete all'imponente Santuario. Qui potrete trascorrere un bel po di tempo a visitare le varie aree del santuario.
Prima di ripartire, riempite la borraccia alla fontana e via, si ritorna indietro sulla stessa strada e saranno 13 km di discesa.
Arrivati a Summonte seguendo la traccia GPS, avrete la possibilità di visitare tutti i punti di interesse, che sono tutti segnati e segnalati con cartelli ben visibili. Dalla torre Angioina al Borgo Medievale, lasciatevi emozionare dalle bellezze di Summonte

Una sosta lungo la suggestiva piazza sull’acqua antistante il famoso ponte di Tiberio, per proseguire alla scoperta del Castello, i palazzi storici e il Tempio Malatestiano. In questo tour si possono vedere anche l’arco di Augusto, l’anfiteatro dei romani e il nuovo centro storico di Rimini con il rinnovato teatro Galli e il cinema Fulgor, icona dell’arte felliniana in Italia e nel mondo. Si arriva quindi sul lungomare di Rimini che con la sua pista ciclabile collega direttamente la vicina Riccione, passando per Rivazzurra, Bellariva e Miramare.

Starting from the ancient medieval town of Spello, immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and history along a route that will take you through evocative places and picturesque villages.
Our tour, suitable for everyone, starts in Spello and following the Subasio road takes us to the castle of Collepino. Collepino, once known as Colle-Lupino or Collepieno, is a charming medieval castle situated on the eastern slopes of Mount Subasio, at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level. From its promontory, always kissed by the sun, one can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Chiona torrent, the city of Foligno and the Spoletana Valley. St. Francis, in a moment of admiration, said of the Spoletana Valley: ‘Nihil iucundius vidi valle mea spoletana’ - ‘I have seen nothing more beautiful than my Spoletana Valley’.
Continuing along the road that skirts Subasio and passes the enchanting castle of San Giovanni di Collepino, one arrives at Armenzano, the castle perched on a hill that offers a spectacular view of the Nocerine hills and mountains and the green valley of the Anna torrent. Every year in June, the surrounding landscape is covered in the brilliant yellow-gold mantle of flowering broom.
Following the same road, we then reach the tiny and pretty hamlet of Costa di Trex, which from the slopes of Subasio overlooks the Tescio valley and the Marchetto ditch.
The tour then continues in the direction of Assisi, where a stop is obligatory due to the countless beauties and sightseeing opportunities that this place, one of the most popular and well-known in the entire Umbria region, offers visitors.
From Assisi we then take the route back to Spello via the magnificent Via degli Ulivi, passing enchanting views and small jewels of local history and culture such as the Maestà del Mascione (or Mascicone). This scenic route halfway between Assisi and Spello, known for its numerous olive groves, offers an evocative journey immersed in nature.

I nidi delle cicogne
Partendo dal piazzale del peso pubblico di Rovasenda, dal quale si vedono le prime piattaforme per la nidificazione delle cicogne, si raggiunge Cascina Teglio attraversando campi biologici con colture diverse. Si vede quindi un nuovo nido di cicogne tra Tenuta Bonifica e Cascina Tabacco.
Riso Secondo Natura
Addentrandosi in un panorama che è quello tipico della Baraggia, si arriva all'Azienda biologica Molinia, creatrice della tecnica Riso Secondo Natura. Proprio qui, oltre all'osservazione dei nidi, si possono comprendere le tecniche innovative a basso impatto e senza uso di prodotti di sintesi (no chimica). La strada, in questo breve tratto, è sterrata e dal fondo piuttosto irregolare, circondata da colture di vario tipo.
Costeggiando il canale della diga della Ravasanella, attraversando il bosco e osservando la centralina idroelettrica del Consorzio di Bonifica della Baraggia Vercellese e Biellese (con turbina funzionznte), si percorre un tratto asfaltato tra la Riserva Speciale della Baraggia a sinistra e un'area militare con strutture e capannoni a destra.
Il Feudo di Rovasenda e il Canale Fasoli
Si rientra così a Rovasenda, costeggiando le piattaforme per le cicogne alla Cascina Nuova e ripassando dalla Cascina Teglio, concludendo con una visita al Feudo di Rovasenda oppure facendo una deviazione seguendo il Canale Fasoli (prima si vede l'imbocco della traversa del Cavo Piantalino) per vederne il salto d'acqua, aperto nella stagione dell'irrigazione.

Questo percorso ti permetterà di immergerti nella natura, pedalando fra boschi che sembrano incantati, sorgenti naturali e paesaggi mozzafiato del Parco Nazionale del Pollino.
Il pittoresco borgo sorto alla fine del ‘400 porta il nome della potente famiglia lucana, proprietaria di numerosi feudi in Basilicata. Qui i Cistercensi promossero un grande sviluppo rurale.
Durante il brigantaggio il paese fu teatro delle orribili repressioni del Capitano Gennaro Iannarelli.
I luoghi da visitare lungo il percorso sono il Santuario della Madonna di Pollino e la Chiesa di S. Maria degli Angeli. Di grande interesse sono gli antichi molini (Calabrese, Ammirati, Fasanella) e le bellezze naturali di Bosco Magnano, del Monte Pollino e delle Gole del Frido.
