Tipi Percorsi
The second stage of the GTL flattens out towards the Agro Pontino, leaving behind the reliefs of the Alban Hills. Leaving Velletri, we move away from the course of the Appian Way along secondary roads in the countryside dotted with vines, still following the Via Francigena del Sud and the Eurovelo 7 route. Before entering the beautiful village of Giulianello, we skirt the lake of the same name along dirt roads and dirt roads, to avoid the dangerous and busy provincial road not far away. A few more pedal strokes and we are in Cori, where you can visit the wonderful Temple of Hercules. Continuing, the descent towards the expanses and the reclamation canals take us to what were once the fiefdoms of the Caetani family, up to one of the most beautiful gardens in Italy, the Oasis of Ninfa. From here to the Abbey of Valvisciolo, a masterpiece of the Cistercian, the road is short, and a few kilometers further on we can face the climb to the fortress of Sermoneta and stop at the medieval castle of the Caetani family. The last kilometers of the route are all flat, and pass first through the Latina Scalo station, and then arrive in the cradle of Rationalism.

Grinzane Cavour
Grinzane Cavour will amaze you with its imposing castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Home to the Piedmont Regional Wine Cellar, the manor houses an interesting ethnographic and oenological museum. Climb the tower to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding vineyards. Don't forget to visit the village below, with its characteristic stone and brick houses.
Barolo
Barolo, the world capital of its namesake wine, is an unmissable stop. The majestic Falletti Castle dominates the village and houses the WiMu, the Wine Museum, an interactive and engaging experience suitable for all ages. Walk through the narrow streets of the historic centre, stopping at the numerous wine shops to taste the prized "king of wines". Novello
Novello, the last village on your itinerary, welcomes you with its quiet and authentic atmosphere. Reach the panoramic terrace near the castle, from where you can admire a view that encompasses much of the route you've tackled. The historic centre, with its cobbled streets and historic buildings, deserves a relaxing stroll. Don't leave without tasting the famous "hand-pulled breadsticks", a local speciality.

Part from Torre Lapillo, in the shadow of the historic tower, the fifth stage of the Cyclovia of the Ionian Salento. After a fresco on a fantastic spunnulata (a resurgence), it pedal between the woods of Arneo and the coast with its naturalistic jewels : the paths in the perfumed stain of the Palude of the Count, the pink fenicacles in flight on the lake mirror of Salina dei Monaci, the freezing and crystalline water of the mouth of the Chidro River. And then straight into the interior, beyond the woods there is first Manduria, with its millennial history, and finally the borgo of Avetrana.

The Bicycle Route Between Calanchi and Balze
The bicycle route between Balze and Calanchi passes through places where nature and history intertwine in a circular path accessible to everyone thanks to e-bikes. This itinerary takes us to discover a unique scenario, characterized by spectacular geological formations, medieval monasteries suspended between heaven and earth, and gastronomic delicacies that tell the essence of this territory.
The e-bike itinerary develops in a loop, making the experience accessible even to those who are less trained. The electric bicycle represents the ideal means to fully immerse yourself in the surrounding landscape, allowing you to appreciate every detail of these lands shaped by time and the elements. The route winds through a succession of breathtaking panoramas, alternating white roads with more adventurous paths, always accompanied by the majesty of the Balze and calanchi that dominate the horizon.
The Balze: Witnesses of an Ancient Geological History
Along the bike path, you observe the Balze which reveal themselves in all their grandeur. These steep slopes with their characteristic golden color represent a natural spectacle of rare beauty and a geological phenomenon of considerable scientific interest. Composed of sand and calcareous sandstone rocks, the Balze are the result of a grand erosive process still in progress, which continues to shape the sediments left by an ancient sea dating back 2.5 million years.

In stark contrast to the golden Balze, the calanchi represent another fascinating chapter of this cycling adventure. These clay formations, shaped by the erosion of rainwater, create a surreal landscape that extends as far as the eye can see toward the sea.

The bike path reaches, via a white road, a privileged observation point near the small church of San Cipriano. From this strategic position, you can admire in all its extension the characteristic calanchi landscape of Volterra, distinguished by formations of considerable size, both in length and height.
This natural belvedere offers the opportunity to take memorable photographs and enjoy a moment of contemplation in front of a scenario that seems to have come out of a painting. The small church, with its architectural simplicity, integrates perfectly into the surrounding landscape, adding a further element of cultural interest to the experience.
The Pecorino delle Balze Volterrane DOP: A Gastronomic Treasure
The e-bike tour crosses a hilly territory rich not only in natural and historical beauties, but also in gastronomic excellences. In these hills, the prestigious Pecorino delle Balze Volterrane DOP is produced, a typical cheese that encapsulates the essence of this unique land.
The peculiarity of this cheese lies in the use of vegetable rennet extracted from the wild thistle, a plant that grows spontaneously in local pastures. This production technique, handed down from generation to generation, gives the pecorino a distinctive and unmistakable flavor, which tells the story and traditions of these hills. An itinerary to discover a unique corner of the Valle d'Aosta, where natural environments and breathtaking views.
They are revealed at every stroke of the pedal, under the majestic silhouette of the Matterhorn, or "the Great Becca" as the people in the valley call it.
You can cycle through beautiful chestnut woods, meadows, fields and picturesque mountain villages, where they are still visible.
Remnants of the life of a time like ancient water mills and traditional rye bread ovens.
Once the bike is loaded on the cableway, in a few minutes you can reach the village of Chamois, the Pearl of the Alps and the only Italian town not reachable by car.
From here we continue along the splendid farm that, between a panoramic view and the other, leads up to La Magdeleine. Its 7 mills have been perfectly restored and recovered for ethnographic purposes.

ATTENTION PLOT FOR EXPERT BIKERS !!! starts from the fraction Brengon in front of all 'Hotel TantanĂ© and goes up in the direction Veuillen towards the famous walk La Magdeleine / Chamois. After about 2 km of asphalt the road becomes dirt and goes perracing in the lakes direction of Champlong for about 3 km up to 2400 m. (a pretty steep white street). Once it has arrived to the ponds, continue on the same road until the downhill and start the descent towards l ', which is a steep descent of steep descent but on a white road. Once you have arrived at all 'alworst Foresus take the first road to the right and rise to the chamois municipality's rise facilities, passing through to a gracious alworst, Glavin. Okay the climb is over you can get back in. Take back the dirt road that descends and always tends to the right jungles at the departure of the 'ovetto for Plan Maison. At the top of the road turn left and at the next bivio to the right, go down and then still to the right to arrive at the church of Breuil Cervinia. You can take a swig in the pedestrian street after you return to the church and following the road you go down to the roundabout, just after the roundabout, you enter the parking lot. Cross it all and in the bottom you keep the right, cost the gallery paramasses and arrive at the distributor. Take to the right and take the narrow lane leading to the Golf field, after about 50m take the trail to the left with indication Perreres / Valtournenche. Continue along the Marmore, attention technical path very frequented SE DO NOT VE THE FEEL COME DOWN FROM THE BIKE. Coming to the bottom of the right and after having overstepped the colony at the crossroads you will take the right by passing over the bridge. Continue on the dirt until you get to a clearing with some casks, take the crossroads to the left and reach for Crepin. From here we advise you to kindly follow the trail to the Buisson funiway. Come to Buisson take the rope and climb into the municipality of Chamois. You can stop and drink a nice little birdie at the bar funiway, the complicated part of the tour is over. In the square where you find yourself go to the left to the town hall and follow the directions for La Magdeleine. After 4 km you have arrived again on the 'tarmac. Take it to the right and go down to the country.

The territory
We are in the vineyard area of Nebbiolo da Barolo where the vineyards are so beautiful and historical that they have become Heritage of Humanity Unesco. It is, in fact, a landscape of exceptional beauty!
The territory of the Langhe is characterized by a historical tradition related to the crop of the vine and a true culture related to the production of the deeply rooted wine in the community. It is from these vines that the Barolo is produced : it is the red wine (the King of the Vines) produced with Nebbiolo grapes. The communes where the Barolo is produced are 11 : Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d' Alba (in these 3 only Barolo is produced) and then there are La Morra, Monforte d' Alba, Roddi, Verduno, Cherasco, Diano d' Alba, Novello and Grinzane Cavour.
The winery La Torricella
The Cantina La Torricella is located in Monforte in the fraction Sant' Anna.
The cellar has a long family history, there are 3 generations who have worked and are working inside the cellar : a cutting-edge cellar from the strong family tradition, will know how to amaze you with its proposals.
The tour
This tour leaves from Novello and from here it is very easy to reach Monforte and the winery La Torricella. During the visit to Monforte, mandatory stop at Giant Bench belonging to the Big Bench circuit is the nr #6 Monforte-Gramolere from the Purple color. With the e-bikes the climb will be easy and fun. On the bench it is possible to sit back and relax by admiring the panorama from the high of the ancient city of Monforte that one of the Most Beautiful Borghi of Italy. After the visit to Monforte pedal between the Monfortini vineyards and the electric bike is saddled with the S. Anna fraction. The scenic route offers wonderful farts on the valley, with a view of the Langhe, already before you arrive, you will enjoy the wine paessage.
If you prefer instead you can go first from Castiglione Falletto, admire the imposing castle, enjoy the fantastic view from the belvedere.
The panorama is assured by the scenic route that links Monforte to Castiglione Falletto, pedal into e-bike on the crest of the hill, you will remain open-mouths.
After the tasting you can go up again in the saddle to continue with your tour in the direction of Barolo, from the city center spurts the castle, home to the Vine Museum, great stage for the enthusiasts. After the visit to Barolo it is part of Novello.

The following text and the linked "hikes" routes are part of the Gallo Nero Bike Day event on last 20th September 2020. Together with the organising body we decided to let the routes be available all year round, hoping that more and more people decide to cycle on our roads. If you want to visit wineries, restaurants and businesses who joined the event, please call in advance because special menus and prices and opening times may vary without notification.
The ride is easy: starting from Greve in Chianti, the route passes through the hamlets of Greti- Passo dei Pecorai- Ferrone. Leaving behind the last houses in Ferrone, cyclists will then turn left to tackle the one and only climb, the uphill road of Luiano (length Km 3,500; elevation difference 3%), which offers a truly classic view of the territory, with vineyards and olive groves. Mercatale is the halfway mark and as the route continues towards the four roads, riders will enjoy panoramic views of the Val di Pesa valley (with San Donato and Tavarnelle) on the right, extending all the way to the countryside surrounding Siena. As the route descends on the downhill road of Leccia, it embraces the traditional Florentine Chianti landscape and participants will take in amazing views while pedaling on vineyard-lined roads, admiring Impruneta, Chiocchio and Strada in Chianti in the distance. A right turn at the end of the slope will bring participants to Greve in Chianti, and back to the beginning of the route after 9 Km on flat roads.

Pedalata in e-bike dalle sorgenti termali di acqua sulfurea al rifugio di Malboschetto in connessione spirituale con la natura.
Latronico fu feudo dei Sanseverino, dei Corcione e dei Gesuiti. Poi passò alla Corona e al demanio.
La popolazione dal ‘700 è profondamente devota a S. Egidio, figura presente nell’arte, nella storia e nel costume del paese.
Tra i luoghi di principale interesse: la Cappella di San Cataldo del XIII sec., la Chiesa di S. Maria delle Grazie, la Chiesa di S. Egidio e quella di S. Nicola, Palazzo Arcieri e Palazzo Gioia. Tra le risorse naturalistiche le sorgenti di acque minerali La Calda e l’enorme sagoma di un pesce fossile di 30 milioni di anni fa in località Solarino di Iannazzo.
Da Cornello dei Tasso si attraversa la Valle dei Mulini verso la chiesa di Sant'Anna per poi raggiungere l'abitato di Oneta

The MTB Trail
The e-bike cycling route through the Barbaresco Langhe winds through the hills and woods of Beppe Fenoglio's Langa. Here, Barbaresco wine dominates and the villages along the route are Treiso and Trezzo Tinella. The trail is perfect for e-bike MTBs, combining paved and unpaved roads. It's not particularly technical and suitable for anyone wanting to enjoy riding e-bike MTBs. Be cautious if there has been recent rain, as mud will be prevalent.
Alba San Rocco Seno D'Elvio
This loop tour, doable in half a day by e-bike MTB, starts from the e-bike rental point in Alba Fraz.San Rocco Seno D'Elvio. By reservation, visitors can enjoy a wine tasting at Marco and Vittorio Adriano Winery adjacent to the bike rental shop. The route heads toward Treiso on secondary roads climbing through Barbaresco vineyards. While the initial climb requires good physical effort, e-bikes significantly reduce this effort, making elevation changes easy and fun. The first kilometers cross through San Rocco Seno d'Elvio, showcasing the first expanses of Nebbiolo for Barbaresco.
Treiso
After about 7 km of climbing, you reach Treiso, revealing breathtaking views of the Tanaro valley and surrounding hills. The village, known for its historic wineries, deserves a stop to visit the Santa Maria del Piano parish church and the belvedere overlooking the vineyards below. A highly recommended stop is the Trattoria Risorgimento in Treiso, where you can collect (by reservation) a gourmet local products picnic basket.
Donna di Langa and its panorama
From Treiso, continue by e-bike to Trezzo Tinella through landscapes alternating between vineyards and hazelnut groves. The road winds through hills, offering scenic views of Valle Tinella and distant Alps. Trezzo Tinella marks the route's highest point. The small village preserves authentic Langhe charm with stone houses and narrow alleys. From here, enjoy views spanning from Barbaresco hills to Alpine peaks on clear days. The Donna di Langa panoramic point and picnic area is excellent for enjoying your picnic with postcard-worthy valley views.
Leaving the Donna di Langa viewpoint, the route crosses various rural hamlets where ancient farmhouses and terraced vineyards dominate. Vegetation varies with altitude, transitioning from Nebbiolo vineyards to wooded areas, creating a beautiful landscape mosaic.
The bike descent to Alba offers technical sections requiring caution, especially after rain. The route follows secondary roads through greenery, with views of the region's famous vineyards. During descent, you pass through small villages like Tre Stelle, where you can stop at farmhouses and wineries.

One-day 40 km tour in the Monferrato area around Acqui Terme. Visit Montechiaro d'Acqui and Castelletto d'Erro.
Castelletto d'Erro
Population 155, it's one of the peaks of this mountain area coloured by lavender fields. What to see: the medieval fortress now is just a square tower. The Assunta church contains a painting ascribed to Pietro Ivaldi called "il Muto" (the Mute"). Visit Sant'Onorato, a small chapel 1 km far from the village.
Montechiaro d'Acqui
The village is 15 km from Acqui Terme. The highest part is on the crest between Bormida and Erro Valleys: the landscape is astonishing. Its main features are the cobblestones streets, the vaults, the staircases made of sandstone. All of the houses are made of stones with plaques, gates and emblems with signs of the past centuries. You can visit the parish curch of Saint George (16th Century) and the Saint Catherine oratory, the latter is now the Peasants' Museum.
Ponti
During the Roman Age via Aemilia Scauri passed here. An original mileston was found here and is now protected under the City Hall arcades. Visit the ruins of the Marquis of Carretto castle and the parish church of the Assunta. Every year, on the last Sunday of April, there is the Sagra del Polentone, which is the Festival of the Big Polenta (local cornmeal mush).

Starting from the fountain of Placa Reial (city center), where you will meet your guide, our electric bike tour will bring you through the narrow streets of the old city, in the Medieval Districts of Gothic and Born.
Then you will head towards the modern area of Barcelona, where you will immerse yourself in the Catalan Modernism, exploring the amazing buildings designed by Gaudí, Casa Batlló, Casa Milá, and the impressive Basilica of the Sagrada Familia.
At the Temple, you will get a SKIP-THE-LINE access to the Sagrada for the inside tour of the Cathedral. Inside, you can take a tour by yourself or be guided by the audioguide in your own language.
The visite inside takes about one hour. At the end your bike guide will be outside waiting for you to bring you back to the departure point safely and happy!

Between one borgo and the other, alternates thus the Natural Park of Ugento, the Park of Punta Pizzo and the Isle of Sant' Andrea, the Park of Portoselvaggio, the protected Marine Area of Porto Cesareo, the Reserve of the Palude del Conte, the Reserve of the Tarantino littoral, up to the mouth of the Chidro River. You then enter into the land of the Primitivo by touching Manduria and Avetrana to return then to Lecce. The complete cyclovia and the 5 ring paths The Cycllovia of the Ionian Salento is the complete path to explore this territory, it is a ring path at the reach of all that develops in just over 300 kilometres in six recommended stages (Lecce, Nardò, Ugento, Gallipoli, Tower Lapillo, Avetrana). Overlapping for a good part of the main itinerary, are five ring paths that allow you to make excursions of a day or to arrange to measure your journey by bike : Escursion E-01 : from Ugento to Racale ;

Excursion E-05 : from Manduria to Torre Lapillo The main path, long 305.8 km, and for 82% on asphalt and 18% on stills, with low intensity traffic on almost all the route, except in July / August on littoral traits.
