Partendo dal punto di noleggio ebike di Mongiardino Ligure,si segue la stradina "via Crêuza" che ripercorre l' antica VIA DELLA SALATA. Il nome dice tutto.Era una delle strade dove le carovane di muli carichi di sale, erano diretti verso la Lombardia e il Piemonte.Arrivati alla frazione di Costa Salata ,si prosegue atrraverso uno stretto bivio che sale a sinistra, segnallato da una freccia di legno. Qui si abbandona lo sterrato,e la stradina sale tranquillamente, vi sono piccoli tratti in cui il terreno e' sconnesso ed e' raccomandabile ,scendere e spingere per il breve tratto l' e-bike,in alcuni punti vi sono delle pozzanghere.La stradina si immerge in un bosco di castagni.A un certo punto si incontra un grande prato verde ,girando a sinistra si entra in quel che rimane del paese e della piccola chiesetta dedicata a San Pasquale.
Ritornati nella strada principale si prosegue verso Borassi ,Frazione di Roccaforte Ligure . Il percorso prosegue verso Montemanno, e qui si gode di una bellissima vista sulla Val Sisola e sui vigneti di Timorasso,Arrivati a Sisola si rientra pedalando lungo la strada ormai asfaltata.

The itinerary starts from the Bike Square rental point in Cabella Ligure. From here you take the S.P. 140 and cross the bridge over the Borbera river until you reach the towns of Dovanelli, Dova Inferior, Dova Superior and finally the pass of San Fermo, at crossing point of the Ligurian Apennines with an altitude of 1.129 m at Mount San Fermo along the road which connects Liguria with the Borbera Valley. The pass in the past was very important because it was the direct salt route to Lombardy. On the Piedmontese side of the pass is the chapel of San Fermo with two bas-reliefs from the ancient abbey of San Clemente. From the pass you have a fantastic view of the Borbera valley, Valley Scrivia and Valley Vobbia, on clear days the view reaches the Western Alps, Liguria and sometimes even Corsica. The Chapel of San Fermo is locatedin the on the border between Liguria and Piedmontat a height of 1177 meters above sea level, in the Ligurian Apennines. From the chapel you can enjoy the Ligurian Sea, the Apennines, the western Alps and, on the clearest days, Monviso. The patronal feast is characteristic Ligurian pancakes held at the chapel of the same name on 9 August every year. For the return trip you pass thisugh the towns of Casalbusone and Gordena, typical villages similar to those of the Ligurian hinterland, built with local stone and immersed in an unobstructed nature of beech, oak and chestnut woods.

From here by continuing along the provincial 140, it comes in the vicinity of the inhabited Albera Ligure from which the Albirola Valley begins. After the iron bridge begins a small asphalted secondary road leading to the fraction of Santa Maria-Venaint. It reaches localities ' Campana and returns to the provincial road to Cantalupo Ligure, passing through the location of Pertuso, known as the starting point of the suggestive trial called the stone doors. From here you can admire a suggestive canyon, long a few kilometres and marked by a very bitter nature dominated by spectacular rock formations, unfortunately also known for sad episodes related to World War II. Before returning to Cabella Ligure it is worth climbing over the evocative iron bridge and crossing the river from which the beautiful territory of this valley between Piedmont and Liguria takes its name.

From here you continue along the 140 state road to Albera Ligure and on to San Nazzaro wheve you locality turn left towards Rocchetta Ligure where Valley Sisola begins. The seventeenth-century Palazzo Spinola, home to the Museum of Resistance and social life, is worth a visit. Continuing on the S.P. 145 you can see several water mills. The first, on the side of the road in the lower Pagliaro area, is well underway and functioning. Continuing on you arrive at the hamlet of Sisola where the landscape is characterized by the presence of vineyards of Timorasso, a white native grape grown only in these valleys weighing to the particularity of the soil and its sunny climate. Continuing on the S.P. 145 you can see, on the right the Pravaglione mill, after which the road begins to climb more steeply until you reach Costa Salata which clearly evokes its past as a commercial route between Liguria and Piedmont. From here a long descent begins where the Valley Sisola ends and the Valley Vobbia begins and from Piedmont it passes into Liguria. Following the S.P. 8 you became at the village of Vobbia. From here continue to the right where to narrow gorge begins, along a road map by the lush woods of the Antola park, until you reach the entrance of the Castello della Pietra, carved between two spurs of rock. The castle, dating back to the 1100s, is a cultural center of safeguarding landscape value, showing a perfect fit between nature and history. You can park the bikes and walk along the path that in about 20 leads to the castle where you can take a guided tour on the days and at the set times. Finally we return to Cabella L. following the same road used in the first leg.

Si parte dal punto di noleggio Bike Square di Mongiardino e si seguono le indicazioni per Roccaforte e Grondona. Il percorso è interamente su strada asfaltata di basso traffico. Raggiunto il punto panoramico di Roccaforte e S. Martino si inizia una lunga discesa fino al caratteristico borgo di Grondona, attraverso un territorio verdeggiante e profumato ricco di numerose essenze arboree. Il borgo ricorda quelli medievali dell'entroterra Genovese, con edifici costruiti in pietra locale.Tra le numerose atrattive storiche vi sono la Chiesa dell'Annunziata e la Chiesa di S. Maria dell'Assunta, entrambe romaniche, la torre cinquecentesca superstite del Castello Doria e l'antico ponte in pietra.Ci si può fermare per assaporare i prodotti tipici locali della valle Spinti tra cui spicca l'aromatico miele.
Trascorsa una rinfrescante pausa nella quiete e nel verde si ritorna a Sisola per la riconsegna delle ebike.

Questo percorso, che attraversa si l'Appennino Ligure che quello Piemontese, ripercorre in gran parte le strade dell'Appennino Bike Tour ( promosso dal Ministero dell’Ambiente e Tutela del Territorio e del Mare, Confcommercio Imprese per l’Italia, Confcommercio Ascom Bologna e Vivi Appennino e per la prima volta viene percorso istituzionalmente nel 2017 dai rappresentanti di Istituzioni del territorio portando il drappo tricolore da Municipio a Municipio.),il Giro ,che nasce con il progetto di creare un Ciclo-Via d’Italia attraverso le strade secondarie dell’Appennino.
La partenza avviene nel punto di noleggio Bike Square di Cabella Ligure,di qui percorrendo la statale 140 si attraversa iL comune di Albera Ligure e da qui si gira a sinistra e si attraversa il centro abitato di Rocchetta ligure,da qui il percorso si fa piu' impegnativo ,ma decisamente piu' panoramico e si attraversa il comune di Roccaforte Ligure e Isola del Cantone ,qui l'impegno e' discontinuo ma elevato,ma il panorama e la natura incontaminata fa presto dimenticare la fatica.Attraversato l'abitato di Isola del Cantone ,si prosegue verso Ronco Scrivia (uno dei 40 comuni tappa del tour (Ronco Scrivia -Brallo di Pergola),da qui si entra nel Comune di Vobbia facente parte del Parco Regionale Regionale Naturale dell'Antola .Attraversato l'abitato del piccolo comune di Vobbia, si imbocca la strada sp.81 si trova circa a meta' strada tra l'abitato di Vobbia e la localita' Mulino di Salata di Mongiardino Ligure,che segna il confine tra Liguria e Piemonte sulla strada che conduce in Val Borbera. Attraversato un ponte e superato sulla sinistra il bivio per Arezzo, si costeggia sulla destra, il torrente Valenzona,sfiorando piccoli borghi rurali.Il territorio e' scarsamente popolato,la strada attraversa una serie di macchie boschive ,in prevalenza di latifoglie, interrotte da zone prative.Il fondo e' in buono stato fino a Valenzona .
Benche' la metasia ancora lontana ,appare gia' la Cappella di San Fermo ,altissima sul monte, qui oltre ad entrare nel territorio Piemontese e nel nascente Parco dell'alta Val Borbera, qui si attraversano sia i comuni di Mongiardino Ligure , Carrega Ligure .Il Valico di San Fermo si trova sotto la Cappella di San Fermo(1177 m )che e' raggiungibile grazie ad un ripido sentiero.Da qui si gode di una spettacolare vista sull'Appennino e sulle Alpi Occidentali.Il valico e' posto sul crinale dell'Antola, lungo un 'antica via del sale .Da qui si torna al punto di noleggio di Cabella Ligure.

Attraversando il territorio di Albera Ligure sarà possibile ammirare i vigneti coltivati a Timorasso recuperati in questi anni dal Collettivo Barban.
Pedalando e chiacchierando vi imbatterete nel Mulino di Santa Maria per arrivare poi in cima al Castello di Borgo Adorno. Da qui il paesaggio è mozzafiato.
Una volta arrivati a località Campana, si può scegliere se proseguire in direzione Cantalupo Ligure oppure prolungare di qualche chilometro per dirigersi verso la Val Curone,
Il tratto di strada tra i piccoli centri di Cavigino e Vigoponzo vi regala ancora una vista spettacolare sulla Val Borbera e la vicina Val Curone.
Il ritorno: Rochetta Ligure e la Val Sisola.
Da Cantalupo Ligure si ritorna verso Rochetta Ligure, costeggiando il Borbera.
A Rocchetta Ligure si può visitare il Palazzo Spinola che fu residenza estiva della famiglia Spinola di Genova. Nel palazzo potrete trovare anche un piccolo Museo della Resistenza e della vita contadina.
Dopo aver attraversato il paese di Rocchetta Ligure si costeggia il Sisola, sino all’omonima località, dove trovate anche qui i vigneti di Timorasso.
Da Sisola si ritorna a Cabella Ligure da una stradina minore con una pendenza piuttosto decisa e in piccola parte sterrata.
Arrivati nel paese di Cremonte ci si può godere la vista di Cabella Ligure dall’alto.

La Via del sale è un insieme di antichi percorsi commerciali che mettevano in comunicazione la
pianura Padana con il mar Ligure: il sale infatti, utilizzato per la conservazione dei cibi, era la più
preziosa delle merci trasportate dai muli o dai carri, insieme all'olio ligure in cambio del vino e di
altri prodotti.
Una di queste vie collegava la Val Borbera con il territorio di Genova.
Questo itinerario propone di ripercorrere l'antica Via salata con partenza in ebike da Mongiardino
Ligure in Val Borbera, in una delle zone più verdi e ad alto valore naturalistico del basso Piemonte.
Se invece si vuole abbreviare il percorso di circa 20 km è possibile partire da Casella nell'entroterra
di Genova. L'e-bike vi consentirà comunque di percorrere anche lunghi tratti in salita senza fatica.
L'itinerario prevede di percorrere strade asfaltate di basso traffico che attraversano piccoli borghi
come Casella, Montoggio, Scoffera, Pannesi e Uscio con arrivo in giornata a Camogli.
Questi territori da sempre terre di passaggio, sono disseminati di reperti storici quali torri
d’avvistamento, chiese, piccoli borghi arroccati, ponti antichi, palazzi storici, segni delle antiche
civiltà contadine che si accompagnano a ricchi spunti naturalistici e ambientali: panorami unici con
spettacolari fioriture di specie protette e grandi distese di boschi dove oggi è tornato a vivere anche
il lupo. La particolare posizione geografica fa convivere l’ecosistema montano con quello
mediterraneo: da non perdere sono le fioriture primaverili che colorano i prati d’altura, il foliage
autunnale dei boschi o semplicemente un bagno estivo nelle fresche acque del torrente Borbera.
Trascorsa la serata e la notte a Camogli, dopo aver ricaricato le e-bike è previsto il rientro a Casella
o a Mongiardino intervallando la pedalata a soste nei piccoli borghi anche per degustare i molti
prodotti tipici sia quelli di montagna sia quelli dell'entroterra Ligure con una varietà uniche di
formaggi, paste e ravioli fatti a mano, vini liguri e piemontesi, ottimi funghi e i rinomati tartufi
bianchi della Val Borbera.
