Un modo nuovo di vedere la città di Torino... spesso dipinta come una città grigia e industriale, vi sorprenderà mostrando il suo lato green e naturalistico! Potrete osservare la flora e la fauna locale incontrando scoiattoli e uccellini che cinguettano.

Percorso adatto a tutti e alle famiglie con bambini.

Il percorso si snoda lungo la pista ciclabile che costeggia la riva del fiume Po. Lungo il tragitto ci saranno tratti urbani in asfalto e tratti in sterrato, ma rimane comunque un percorso facile e adatto a tutti.

Potete partire per questo giro dalla zona di Torino Porta Nuova preseguendo in sul corso Vittorio Emanuele II, per poi raggiungere il Parco del Valentino dove si possono ammirare il castello del Valentino e il Borgo Medievale.

Dopo questi primi km il percorso si snoderà lungo le rive del fiume Po: superato il parco si attraverserà il ponte Isabella e si andrà sulla sponda opposta del fiume, in cui troveremo la pista ciclabile sul lato sinistro della strada.

Lungo il tragitto si potranno osservare il monte dei Cappuccini e la chiese della Gran Madre di Dio e della Madonna del Pilone. Giunti al ponte della frazione Sassi di Torino, inizierà il percorso di ritorno sul lungo Po Antonelli.

Possibile deviazione nel centro città di circa 3 km per osservare le piazze principali, i luoghi storici e le vie dello shopping.

Questo tour vi porterà sulla collina di Torino e vi permetterà di osservare la città dall'alto. Vi farà pedalare immersi nel verde apprezzando un po' di fresco nelle stagioni più calde. Pedalando si arriva fino Parco della Rimembranza dove potrete rilassarvi lontano da stress e rumori della città.

Potete partire dal centro della città, dalla stazione di Porta Nuova. Il tour si svolgerà in prima battuta nel tratto cittadino, per poi proseguire nel tratto collinare verso il parco della Maddalena. Passato il ponte Umberto I dove si può ammirare il Po si arriva in C.so Fiume, si prosegue a destra verso il Colle della Maddalena. Il panorama non è molto visibile, si notato ville e tanto verde. Arrivati in collina, al bivio, all'entrata del Parco della Rimembranza, si prende a sinistra.

Durante le stagioni calde, il parco è ricco di vegetazione che rende l’atmosfera piacevole e fresca, ma non permette una visibilità perfetta del panorama. Arrivati al Colle della Maddalena si può entrare nel parco e finalmente si può ammirare, tempo bello permettendo, tutta Torino con le montagne e la Basilica di Superga.

Tornando indietro anche da Viale Seneca si possono ammirare delle ville e il panorama di Torino.

Questo tour in ebike tra Torino e Moncalieri vi permette di godere, con calma e tranquillità, delle piacevolezze dei paesaggi, natura e storia delle due città confinanti. Si tratta di un percorso che parte e termina a Torino passando per il Parco del Valentino e delle Vallere, lungo il fiume Po e quindi passa per i centri storici di Moncalieri e Torino.

Si parte da Via Madama Cristina 21, punto di noleggio di bici elettriche BikeSquare; ci si dirige verso il Parco del Valentino e poi delle Vallere, attraverso un percorso pianeggiante, in parte asfaltato e privo di traffico fino alle porte di Moncalieri. Di qui, dopo un breve tratto, si entra nel caratteristico centro storico a traffico limitato di Moncalieri.

Parco del Valentino e delle Vallere
Nel Parco del Valentino si costeggia la parte posteriore del castello del Valentino, sede della facoltà di architettura e successivamente si può passare all’interno del ottocentesco “Borgo Medievale”, residuo dell’expo universale del 1882 assieme alla vicina Fontana dei 12 mesi.

Inoltre all’interno del parco delle Vallere si trova una delle sedi della Smat (Società che approvvigiona di acqua di Torino), che utilizza l’acqua del fiume sangone per imbottigliare l’acqua degli astronauti nelle missioni spaziali di tutto il mondo.

Moncalieri

Del centro di Moncalieri si può apprezzare soprattutto l’intero contesto con le vie costellate di esercizi commerciali dalle vetrine e insegne di sapore antico e di altri tempi.
Molto piacevole fermarsi nella piazza del municipio (piazza Vittorio Emanuele II) per gustare delle prelibatezze locali e visitare la chiesa di Santa Maria della Scala.
In breve dalla piazza si può raggiungere il castello di Moncalieri iniziato nel 1200 e rimaneggiato fino al 1700 che domina la cittadina.
Dal piazzale circostante il castello si può godere di un’ampia e piacevole vista su Torino e le montagne che ne fanno da cornice dando nome alla nostra regione Piemonte (ai piedi dei monti).

Il rientro verso Torino, il monte dei Cappuccini e la Gran Madre di Dio

Da qui si imbocca un ampia e rettilinea discesa che riporta sulle sponde del fiume Po e quindi a Torino, di nuovo costeggiando il fiume Po, ma sulla sponda opposta rispetto all’andata con la possibilità di mantenersi su pista ciclabile lontani dal traffico.
All’altezza del ponte monumentale, si rientra sulle strade cittadine risalendo il breve e piacevole corso Fiume e raggiungendo il monte dei Cappuccini dopo essere passati davanti a Villa Scott, teatro del film Profondo Rosso.
Ai Cappuccini si segnala una bellissima vista sulla città di Torino, nonché il museo della montagna e la chiesa dell’ordine dei cappuccini.
Scendendo la collina da via Villa della Regina si arriva alla storica chiesa Gran Madre di Dio, costruita in occasione del ritorno dei sovrani dopo la parentesi Napoleonica, dalla monumentale scalinata che fa da sfondo a innumerevoli foto di sposalizi.
 

I monumenti del centro sabaudo di Torino

Il giro prosegue lasciandosi alle spalle la collina entrando nel centro tramite la famosa Piazza Vittorio Veneto (la più grande nel suo genere) dalle architetture uniformi che proseguono lungo tutta via Po fino ad arrivare in piazza Castello (si noti il porticato di destra ininterrotto lungo tutta la via perchè riservato al passeggio dei sovrani e dei nobili).

Al centro di Piazza Castello si può ammirare il castello medievale abbellito della facciata settecentesca dello Juvarra, il moderno teatro Regio (teatro per l’Opera lirica) e la chiesa di San Lorenzo.  Una inferriata con l’apertura sorvegliata dalle statue bronzee dei mitologici Castore e Polluce a cavallo (Polluce distinguibile dalla stella sulla fronte che ne attesta la natura divina) separa Piazza Castello dal cortile di Palazzo Reale sede della armeria Reale.  Un lucchetto al centro di questo passaggio individua secondo alcuni una delle porte del paradiso e secondo altri uno dei vertici del triangolo di magia bianca Praga, Lione, Torino.

Da un ulteriore passaggio coperto in fondo a sinistra guardando la facciata di Palazzo Reale si accede volendo a Piazza San Giovanni ove si trova il Duomo dalla candida facciata rinascimentale e che da alcuni secoli custodisce la Sacra Sindone periodicamente esposta.  Dalla piazza sono altresì visibili i resti delle Porte Palatine di origine romana.

Tornando in piazza Castello si imbocca il primo tratto di Via Roma (pedonale) che porta nella elegante piazza San Carlo costruita intorno alla statua equestre di Emanuele Filiberto.  La chicca della piazza sta nella pavimentaione dei portici di destra (secondo la direzione di marcia) dove si può cercare il profilo bronzeo del Turet (picolo toro) simbolo della città; si dice che se si formula un desiderio col piede sopra le palle del toro questo verrà realizzato.

Passando tra due chiese barocche si accede alla successiva piazzetta CNL con le statue maschili e femminili che rappresentano rispettivamente il Po e la Dora principali fiumi di Torino.  Si prosegue lungo Via Roma in direzione della monumentale facciata della stazione di Porta Nuova raggiungendo i giardini Sambuy.  Da qui si imbocca la pista ciclabile di Via Nizza fino a Corso Marconi dove si trova (sulla destra in tufo bianco) l’edificio che fu sede della FIAT e si rientra in Via madama Cristina raggiungendo il punto di noleggio dopo alcuni isolati.

Superga

To get to the 672 m altitude of the Basilica of Superga you pass through a beautiful road surrounded by trees between Pino Torinese and the basilica itself.
One you get there, you will find yourself in the large square of the basilica, where you won't know what to see first between the view of the city of Turin and the beauty of the building in front of you.
Particularly recommended is passing on the back of the building where you can find the monument to the Torino FC players, who disappeared in a plane crash near Superga on May 4, 1949.
After the visit, you can proceed with a long descent towards the city.

Heading back towards Turin: Parco della Colletta, Lavazza e Porta Palazzo

Back in the city, we recommend passing through the Colletta park to avoid traffic in order to pass in front of the Einaudi Campus and to get closer to the headquarters.
In addition to the Lavazza headquarters, you can find the Lavazza museum and a museum with archaeological remains found during the construction of the palace.
Finally, you can admire the Porta Palazzo market, the largest market in Europe, where you can be sure that you will find that Asian spice you have been looking for for some time or any other fantasy of yours.
Extending the tour to nearby Baloon you will find the most fascinating antiques / second hand / junk market you can imagine.

Getting inside the historical city center, Savoy's palaces and going back home

To return to the historic center you pass through the Porte Palatine, those that were once the true gates of the city.
In series you can visit the Turin Cathedral, where the Holy Shroud is exhibited on significant occasions and the Palazzo della Città, seat of the town hall.
Subsequently, passing through via Garibaldi (street famous for the "vasche", so you walk and see all the shops) you pop out in Piazza Castello, where you can admire the medieval castle embellished with the eighteenth-century facade of the Juvarra, the modern Regio theater (theater for the Opera) and the Royal Palace. A padlock in the center of this passage identifies according to some one of the gates of paradise and according to others one of the vertices of the white magic triangle Prague, Lyon, Turin.
From Piazza Castello you enter Via Lagrange to enter the fascinating, elegant and enchanting Piazza Carignano.
This square has a concentration of beauty and history that you will hardly find elsewhere! Here, in fact, you can admire, immersed in the maximum expression of Piedmontese Baroque:

• Palazzo Carignano, seat of the first Italian parliament
• Il Cambio restaurant, what was once the most loved restaurant by Cavour
• The Egyptian museum, the second largest museum in the world for Egyptology

Then we advance and proceed towards Piazza San Carlo, the living room of Turin, a place where we advise you to stop and admire it as one of the greatest examples of elegance and Savoy baroque.
Passing between two Baroque churches you enter the next CNL square with the male and female statues representing respectively the Po and the Dora, the main rivers of Turin. Continue along Via Roma in the direction of the monumental facade of the Porta Nuova station reaching the Sambuy gardens. From here, take the Via Nizza cycle path to Corso Marconi where the building that was the headquarters of FIAT is located (on the right in white tuff) and return to Via Madama Cristina reaching the rental point after a few blocks.

Parco del Valentino e delle Vallere

In the Parco del Valentino you pass by the rear of the Valentino castle, headquarter of the faculty of architecture, and then you can pass inside the nineteenth-century "Borgo Medievale", a remnant of the universal expo of 1882 together with the nearby Fountain of the 12 months.
Also inside the Vallere park there is one of the headquarters of Smat (a company that supplies water from Turin), which uses the water of the Sangone river to bottle the water of astronauts in space missions around the world.

Moncalieri

In the center of Moncalieri, you can especially appreciate the overall picture with the streets filled with shop windows and signs of ancient times.
It is very pleasant to stop in the town hall square (piazza Vittorio Emanuele II) to taste local delicacies and visit the church of Santa Maria della Scala.
In a short time from the square you can reach the castle of Moncalieri, begun in 1200 and remodeled until 1700, which dominates the town.
From the square surrounding the castle you can enjoy a wide and pleasant view of Turin and the mountains that frame it, giving the name to our Piedmont region (at the foot of the mountains).

Going back to Turin, Cappuccini's mount, the low hill and Lavazza

From here, you will take a wide and straight descent that takes you back to the banks of the Po river and then to Turin, again along the Po river, but on the opposite bank from the outward journey with the possibility of staying on the cycle path away from traffic.
Once you get to the monumental bridge, you return to the city streets by going up the short and pleasant corso Fiume and reaching the Monte dei Cappuccini after passing in front of Villa Scott, theater of the film Profondo Rosso.

The Capuccini has a beautiful view over the city of Turin, as well as the mountain museum and the church of the order of the Capuccinis.

The visit continues up the hill, passing in front of Villa della Regina up to the church of the Parish of Santa Margherita Vergine e Martire.
This church is located on a crossroads, from which you can go down to Turin going towards the end of Corso Sella; you will be enchanted by the gradual change of wooded environment to liberty style city environment.
Going beyond the river, it is advisable to move along the Colletta park in order to avoid traffic, passing in front of the modern Camps Einaudi and Sede della Lavazza (headquarters of offices, a museum, a restaurant and also of ancient ruins).

Porta Palazze e Porte Palatine

The return to the city center includes a passage through Porta Palazzo, the largest market in Europe. In this place you can find any food, of any quality, origin, price range.
Not far from Porta Palazzo you can also find the Balun, the most famous second-hand market and various junk items in Turin.
Finally, exactly as it was done over the past centuries, you return to the historic center of Turin passing through the ancient Palatine gates, those that were once among the 4 main gates of the city.

Turin Savoy's city center

After passing the Palatine gates, the tour continues to Piazza Palazzo di Città, seat of the Turin Town Hall, and then continues on via Garibaldi, where you will probably find many people walking around (in Turin, notoriously, the "vasche" are made in via Garibaldi).
At the end of the street you arrive in Piazza Castello where you can admire the medieval castle embellished with the eighteenth-century facade of the Juvarra, the modern Teatro Regio (opera house) and the church of San Lorenzo.

Sei arrivato al Ponte di Sassi? È questo il punto che ti suggeriamo di usare per passare sulla sponda opposta del fiume e continuare a pedalare in tranquillità questa volta in direzione Moncalieri.
Manca parecchia strada a Moncalieri eh! e non è un punto che raggiungerai oggi in bici.
Il tuo giro oggi è più corto e ti permetterà di scoprire la città con un ritmo lento, osservare le persone che la attraversano e le canoe che scorrono sul fiume; il traffico alla tua sinistra lo puoi ignorare: oggi è il giorno di un giro facile e tranquillo in e-bike, sappiamo che aspetti l’Euro Vision invece per scatenarti!

Ancora un passaggio su un ponte, questa volta attraversi la passerella Turin Marathon per dirigerti in Viale di Revel: goditi il verde cittadino e la primavera torinese fino a raggiungere il Parco del Valentino. I torinesi amano molto questo parco a due passi dal centro che si affaccia sul fiume e dove si può godere del verde della collina. Attraverserai anche il Borgo Medievale, un museo a cielo aperto che ti farà fare un tuffo nel passato in un istante.
