Who we are

The team

We are Alberto, Massimo and Lucia.
We have known each other and worked together for more than 10 years and - in 2016 - we founded BikeSquare, our innovative Start up with a social vocation. The idea is to promote the cycle tourism with electric bikes around Italy and also in Europe.

The beginning and growth

We started from Novello, in the Langhe (where we live) with a small fleet of 10 electric bikes. At the beginning, all we needed to manage bookings was an Excel sheet and the contracts were on paper.
For a few years we have answered the phone, written emails, prepared offers, defined routes and sent customers off on their bikes after explaining how our app works.
Now we continue to do these things but - given that in the meantime we have more bikes and different rental points to manage - the BikeSquare group has become larger with people who help us manage rentals, reservations and who collaborate with us for the expansion of the BikeSquare model in Italy and abroad.

The acquisition by E.ON

In 2019 BikeSquare was acquired (24.9%) by E.ON.
E.ON is the German company specialized in the supply of electricity and gas from renewable sources. Our meeting with E.ON allowed us to develop joint projects related to e-mobility, receive support for the development of our business and in general have a broader horizon for our growth.

Our future

BikeSquare has become a nationally known reality, we participate in thematic trade fairs of the sector, we continue to enrich our proposals and develop new features for the site, the app and our management system which has allowed us to abandon excel sheets and paper contracts.
The future? we want to grow further because we like what we are doing as much as we liked it when we started with our first 10 electric bikes.
