The easy route of about 30 km runs mainly through country roads, with small detours to see interesting fountains, agricultural views and places of worship, from small devotional chapels to the Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Fonte in Caravaggio.

Let's take a trip to Montjuic, the hill hosting the 1992 Olympic Games, by electric bike. From the bottom of the hill a cable car will take us the 200 meters to the top of the hill where you can enjoy stunning views of the city.
We will stretch our legs as walk the castle and experience a 360° panoramic view of this magical city.
Then we will ride our e-bikes down to Port Vell, and climb aboard an ecofriendly catamaran to sail along the coast. We will see a completelly different perspective of the city and with the feel of the Meditertanean breeze we will enjoy a refreshing glass of Cava (included).
Once disembarked we will continue with our e-bikes through the Ciutadella Park and the magnificent Arc de Triomf.
NB: Our tours are conducted on comfortable electric bikes, suitable until 12 year old kids (or 1.45cm).
For smaller kids we have different options (trailers, child seats) so they can also enjoy the ride.

In Marina di Schiavonea you will pass by Palazzo delle Fiere with the Torre del Cupo and the Sanctuary of the Black Madonna.
From the beaches you can move in the countryside and "climb" the hills of citrus and centuries-old olive groves.
Here you are in Corigliano Calabro, you can stop and relax maybe taking a picture of the sea from the Piana di Sibari.

Part from Lecce, the capital of the Baroque, the first leg of the Ciclovia of the Ionian Salento. And it is immediately a journey between history and nature : as soon as the city leaves the archaeological area of Rudiae with its amphitheatre, the fiabian road of the Cupa Valley and the rural chiesthole of the Madonna della Neve. Then you enter the Grecìa Salentina, touching on Sternatia and Soleto, to stop in Galatin to admire the magnificent frescoes of the Basilica of St. Catherine of Alexandria and the atavics suggestive of the tarantates. You arrive in Nardò that comes with its ancient borgo rich in history.

What to see and do in Terracina
The e-bike route along the Ancient Appian Way has reached the penultimate stage, starting again from Terracina. Here, pedaling along scenic roads, you will find multiple points with breathtaking views of the sea and surrounding hills. During the e-bike ride, there are many opportunities to visit ancient Roman ruins, such as the Temple of Jupiter Anxur, and admire the picturesque rural landscapes dotted with olive groves and vineyards.
Recommended for a stop are the many agritourisms in the area, excellent for tasting local typical products. You can enjoy fresh cheeses, artisan cured meats, high-quality extra virgin olive oil, fine wines, and traditional sweets. Often, it is possible to combine these agricultural products with specialties based on freshly caught fish from the crystal-clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
What to see and do in Monte San Biagio
Today's e-bike tour continues on a lesser-known stretch of the Ancient Appian Way, with breathtaking views of the sea and the beautiful gulf overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. We are near Monte San Biagio, a picturesque village located on the slopes of the Ausoni Mountains, a few kilometers from the sea. If time allows, a visit to the village is recommended, easily reachable by e-bike.
The narrow and winding streets of the historic center of Monte San Biagio lead to ancient palaces, churches, and breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding hills. The village is located within the Natural Park of the Ausoni Mountains, a protected area rich in flora and wildlife. Along the trails, the most attentive can spot bird species such as birds of prey and woodpeckers while enjoying the tranquility of the countryside.
What to see and do in Fonti
The e-bike tour concludes in Fonti, highly recommended is a stop at the beach to enjoy a well-deserved rest after the ride. Once refreshed, on your e-bike or on foot, you can visit the historic center of Fonti. Getting lost in the narrow streets and cobblestone alleys allows you to admire ancient palaces, stone houses, inner courtyards, and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. A visit to the Church of San Giovanni Battista di Fonti is suggested, one of the main attractions of the city. This sacred building dating back to the 18th century features a baroque facade and an interior rich in decorations and works of art. Inside, you can admire frescoes, sculptures, and the historical architecture of the place. A great way to end the day is dinner with local typical dishes, perhaps accompanied by a glass of fresh local white wine.

The Via Iulia Augusta that, built in 13 century B.C. at the behest of Emperor Augustus, connected Rome to southern Gallia. The route unites Alassio in Albenga and forms a historic-naturalistic walk among the most evocative of the Liguria, with a dramatic view of the island Gallinara. The route begins and ends from the apron of S. Croce, above the port of Alassio. Overcoming the Roman archaeological remains it is possible to reach with a small detour the medieval historical center of Albenga with the cathedral, its medieval towers and museums. This ebike tour in Ciociaria will allow you to discover, without too much effort, some traits of two among the most famous paths in all of Italy. It is part of Ceprano's rental point, where you can choose the electric bike best suited to you. After a few kilometers of pedalata you will enter a road, immersed in nature, which is part of the group of European cycling itineraries called EuroVelo. Along this route you will meet the Natural Monument Grotte of Falvaterra and Rio Obaco, where we advise you to stop to visit the interior of the Grotts or simply refresh yourself to its exterior. The second part of the itinerary envisages, then, to reach and take part of another historic path, the Via Francigena. This, away from the main routes, will lead you to the country of Ceprano and finally back to the rental point.
Bike + Train : with an increasingly careful eye to sustainability in the tourism sphere, at the request will be possible to rent the ebike directly from Ceprano-Falvaterra railway station. You can, therefore, reach Ceprano by train (connected directly with Rome and Naples), rent the ebike and re-mark it back to the same station at the end of the experience.
EuroVelo 5
EuroVelo is a group of cycling routes that cross all of Europe. In particular we find ourselves along the stretch called EuroVelo 5, also called "Via Romea Francigena" 3,900 kilometres long, which, once finished, will unite London in Brindisi, passing through Milan, Rome and our Ciociaria. After leaving Ceprano's rental point you'll be pedaling yourself right on secondary roads, immersed in the tranquility, sounds and perfumes typical of the campaign that will enrich your experience along the whole adventure. After a few kilometers you'll reach the SP151, which is part of the aforementioned EuroVelo 5, along which you'll meet some of the local trattories and producers, the reported Fontana Water Bianca, where you can stop to drink and fill up your borracks and, with a small detour from the main route, the Grottoes of Falvaterra.
Grotte of Falvaterra and Rio Obaco
Soon after leaving SP151 you will reach the Natural Monument Grotte in Falvaterra and Rio Obaco, a veritable hidden gem in the heart of Ciociaria. Here we advise you to stop to visit the interior of the complex (in this case you will need to reach the ticket office first, report on the map) or simply to rest on its exterior, where the temperatures fall sharply and, especially in the warmer days, you can enjoy the fresh from the caves and the torrent limpid spilling out of it.
Via Francigena
Back in the saddle to your ebike, you will be walking a few kilometers until you reach the dam that will allow you to cross the Liri River and arrive at the Lake St. John Inload. In a short time you will find yourself along the Via Francigena (also reported by numerous road signs) that will take you to pedal first around the lake and then on a long white road that crosses the woods, away from paved roads and cars. Once you return to the main road, continuing to follow the road signs also, you will be returning to a secondary road that will allow you to reach another small lake, that of San Giacomo. Among the local inhabitants, this small water mirror is known for its particular connection with the Moon : as can be seen from satellite images, in fact, its particular form reminds precisely that of a crescent ; the numerous elevations and lowering of the water level during the course of the year remind those of the tides in the Earth-to-Earth interaction ; finally, the road leading from the country to the lake (in the path is the one you'll encounter by leaving it) is called its own Via Guardaluna.
By continuing the path we reach, finally, the municipality of Ceprano once again crossed the river thanks to the historic bridge which in the past divided the Papal State from the Kingdom of the South and which was mentioned in an episode of the Divine Comedy. Right after you arrive in Ceprano's main square where you can choose whether to stop to drink an aperitif or continue to re-enter the rental point, where you'll have a relaxation area, a relaxation area in the greenery of a plateau, the bar and restaurant Le Ganze where you can reinstate your energies, eating typical dishes of the laitier and ciociara cuisine.
This bike experience is perfect for unusually and sustainably discovering the beauties of the ciocious territory, immersing itself in its history, in its pristine nature and gusting its typical products.

Il percorso
Il percorso è un itinerario dedicato ai luoghi che ispirarono l'ambientazione delle opere di Beppe Fenoglio. Con un'e-bike in poco tempo si potrà facilmente pedalare tra le colline su strade secondarie e poco trafficate raggiungendo le tappe d'interesse culturale. Tutto il tempo guadagnato sarà occasione per scoprire angoli nascosti e nuovi panorami per poi immergersi nella lettura di un frammento delle opere fenogliane che hanno fatto la storia della letteratura italiana. Riscopri la vita contadina di Agostino tra le mura del tipico Pavaglione, o soffermati davanti le rocche dei sette fratelli ad udire sulle righe di Fenoglio, l'eco della resistenza vissuta dal Partigiano Johnny.
Questi sono solo alcuni degli assaggi di un'esperienza dedicata al centenario dalla nascita di Beppe Fenoglio.

We left Muelle Uno towards the historic centre of Malaga, through the most interesting points of the city to the sea in the area of La Malagueta. Then, we continue to Palm Grove of the Surprises, until we reach the historical centre of Malaga.
We will visit Larios Street, the Cathedral of Malaga, the central Constitution Square, the Alcazaba Roman Theatre ,La Merced Square with Picasso Birth Home.
Following, we will climb with our e-bikes up the Gibralfaro Castle View Point, where we will enjoy an amazing view of Malaga: Bull Square, the Maritim Boulevarde, Malaga Commercial Port. From there we will come back to the port and the Muelle Uno Shopping Centre.

Questo percorso ha come titolo "non solo off-Road" perché si snoda per la stragrande maggioranza su sentieri, mulattiere e single track.
E' sicuramente adatto ad un pubblico che ha già una certa dimestichezza nella guida su terreni sconnessi e fondi abbastanza sdrucciolevoli.
Per quanto riguarda la parte su strada abbiamo scelto per la stragrande maggioranza strade secondarie e alcuni tratti di piste ciclabili, così da poter pedalare in sicurezza.

Monforte d'Alba
Monforte d'Alba will surprise you with its perfectly preserved medieval village. Lose yourself among the winding alleys that lead to Piazza Antica Chiesa, the pulsating heart of the town. Don't miss visiting the Horszowski auditorium, an architectural gem nestled within the ancient walls.
Serralunga d'Alba
Serralunga d'Alba is dominated by its imposing castle, one of the best preserved in Piedmont. Climb the tower to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding vineyards. The village, with its cobbled streets, will transport you to an atmosphere of bygone times.
Castiglione Falletto
Castiglione Falletto, perched on a hill, offers one of the most suggestive panoramas of the Langhe. Visit the medieval castle and treat yourself to a break in one of the local wine shops to taste the renowned wines of the area. The streets of the historic centre are an open-air museum of medieval architecture.
Barolo
Barolo, the world capital of its namesake wine, deserves an in-depth stop. The WiMu, an interactive wine museum housed in the Falletti Castle, will guide you through the discovery of the region's oenological history and culture. Walk through the ancient village, stopping to taste the precious nectar in one of the numerous historic cellars.
The Experience
This 40 km e-bike tour is an experience accessible to everyone, thanks to the pedal assistance that makes even the most challenging stretches manageable. The self-guided route, supported by the BikeSquare app, allows you to explore independently and at your own pace, fully enjoying the beauty of the Langhe. Starting and returning to Novello, you'll cross some of the most charming villages in the region, fully immersing yourself in the UNESCO landscapes and food and wine culture that have made these lands famous worldwide. It's an eco-friendly adventure that combines the pleasure of cycle tourism with the discovery of one of Italy's most renowned wine regions, accessible to cyclists of all levels.

The following text and the linked "hikes" routes are part of the Gallo Nero Bike Day event on last 20th September 2020. Together with the organising body we decided to let the routes be available all year round, hoping that more and more people decide to cycle on our roads. If you want to visit wineries, restaurants and businesses who joined the event, please call in advance because special menus and prices and opening times may vary without notification.
The ride is easy: starting from Greve in Chianti, the route passes through the hamlets of Greti- Passo dei Pecorai- Ferrone. Leaving behind the last houses in Ferrone, cyclists will then turn left to tackle the one and only climb, the uphill road of Luiano (length Km 3,500; elevation difference 3%), which offers a truly classic view of the territory, with vineyards and olive groves. Mercatale is the halfway mark and as the route continues towards the four roads, riders will enjoy panoramic views of the Val di Pesa valley (with San Donato and Tavarnelle) on the right, extending all the way to the countryside surrounding Siena. As the route descends on the downhill road of Leccia, it embraces the traditional Florentine Chianti landscape and participants will take in amazing views while pedaling on vineyard-lined roads, admiring Impruneta, Chiocchio and Strada in Chianti in the distance. A right turn at the end of the slope will bring participants to Greve in Chianti, and back to the beginning of the route after 9 Km on flat roads.

This is a route that will allow you to cycle both on paved roads and partly on dirt paths. It is a medium-difficulty route that mostly develops over flat terrain, except for a climb of about 3 kilometers that leads to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Boden.
The oasis of Borgo Tenso, Madonna del Boden, and Lake Mergozzo
Starting from the BikeSquare rental in Premosello-Chiovenda, you will cycle towards the Natural Oasis of Bosco Tenso, the ideal place to seek shade from the sun and enjoy the coolness of the forest composed of oaks and chestnut trees, as well as observe birds and the variety of wildlife that inhabits the area. You will continue cycling towards Ornavasso to reach the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Boden. Thirsty? You can quench your thirst by filling your water bottle at the fountain from which healing water flows. You can then continue cycling along the Toce cycle path until you reach Mergozzo.
Here, you can ride along the shores of Lake Mergozzo and stop at one of the local establishments in the area.
You will return to Premosello-Chiovenda by retracing the Toce cycle path.

Simpatico intinerario che si sviluppa partendo dall'abitato del comune di La Magdeleine per giungere, dopo circa 5 km al fantastico Col Pilaz. Giunti ai 2000 mt, boschi, laghetti di montagna e una splendida vista sul monte Cervino fanno da padroni. Procedendo verso una divertente discesa si attraversa un simpatico ruscello e lasciandosi alle spalle un piccolo alpeggio si raggiunge dopo circa 4 km il fantastico comune di Chamois dove la circolazione delle auto è vietata. Giunti nella piazzetta principale una piccola visita alla chiesetta del paesino ed una sbirciatina alla funivia sono d'obbligo.
Fatto tutto si abbandona il villaggio principale e salendo sulla destra della chiesetta, si attraversano piccole frazioni ed alpeggi per giungere con una stradina panoramica lo splendido lago di Lod. Un area pic nic e il laghetto permettono di rilassarsi e passare un po di tempo immersi nella natura. Pronti per scendere sulla sinistra dell'arrivo della seggiovia una simpatica discesa vi riporta nella piazzetta di Chamois. A sto punto il rientro verso La Magdeleine è molto piu semplice, si lascia sulla destra un simpatico altiporto dove chi è fortunato vede decollare qualche ultra leggero, e attraversando un bosco ricco di giochi per bambini e altre curiosità si sopraggiunge sul comune di La Magdeleine.

The magical flight of pink flamingos dominates the Salento coastline in the land of Primitivo and Negroamaro.
You cycle through vineyards and wild Mediterranean scrubland before reaching the coast, where the karstic land shows its "spunnulate", karstic resurgences that create small lakes of crystal-clear freshwater.
In the Reserve of the Eastern Taranto Coastline, nature takes over with the Salina dei Monaci and its extraordinary guests, along with the cold and brilliant water of the Chidro river mouth.
The route starts and ends in Manduria. Cycling along the loop, you will pass through the municipalities of Avetrana, Villaggio Boncore, Torre Lapillo, Torre Castiglione, Padula Fede, Punta Prosciutto, Torre Colimena, Specchiarica, San Pietro in Bevagna.
You mainly cycle on asphalt roads, about 75%, but also on dirt roads.
Traffic is light along almost the entire route. In the months of July and August, the stretch on the coastal road is instead characterized by heavy traffic.
The wine 'Negramaro'
Negramaro wine is an oenological excellence typical of Puglia, particularly in the provinces of Lecce, Brindisi, and Taranto.
This native grape variety, whose name derives from the words "black" and "bitter", produces full-bodied and intense red wines that encapsulate all the warmth and passion of Southern Italy.
Negramaro grapes grow lush under the Mediterranean sun, in calcareous and clayey soils that give the wine a unique and unmistakable character. Wines made from this grape variety stand out for their intense ruby color, complex aromas of berries, spices, and floral notes, and a enveloping and persistent taste that makes them perfect to pair with traditional Apulian dishes such as orecchiette with tomato sauce and strong ricotta cheese.

This path allows you to move from one ebike rental point to another, so that you have at your disposal not only the routes and GPS tracks starting from Chiusano San Domenico, but also those with origin at the Avellino cycle station in Contrada San Lorenzo, Atripalda.
This route can be cycled either one way or the other, depending on where you are. The GPS track is a little over 16 km long and takes about 2 hours to cover if it is travelled from Atripalda to Chiusano San Domenico; it will take about 1 hour if it is travelled downhill, i.e. from Chiusano San Domenico to Atripalda.
The road does not present any type of difficulty, so it can be tackled with all types of e-bike available for hire: city, trekking and full suspension e-MTB. By following the GPS track, you will avoid passing along the busier Strada Statale 7, also known as Vecchia Ofantina, preferring an itinerary that is more pleasant to follow and with less risk.
The following description was created assuming departure from the Atripalda rental point, at the Avellino cycle station. If, on the other hand, you depart from the Chiusano San Domenico hire point, all the information remains valid, inverting - naturally - their nature.
Leaving the Ciclostazione Avellino behind you, you only need to pedal your e-bike for 1 km to leave the bustling traffic of the city of Atripalda and take the SP5 after 200 metres uphill.
For almost 4 km you can enjoy the beauty of pedalling on a road that is not at all difficult, made up of pleasant ups and downs with small, short climbs followed by short downhill stretches. Although it has been replaced by the faster and more convenient motorway link, this road connects Atripalda and Serino and, therefore, may be affected by vehicular traffic: keep to the right in single file and pay attention.
After 3.7 km the navigator will ask you to turn left onto SP17. Here begins a 2 km climb, with no steep slopes. At the end of the climb, you will enjoy a beautiful view of the Sabato valley and some magnificent vineyards. It is here, from these rows of vines, that some of Irpinia's finest wines are obtained, especially Fiano di Avellino. If you feel like it and if you have time, explore the surroundings in search of the most beautiful landscapes.
A beautiful descent will take you first to Sorbo Serpico and then to Salza Irpina, where you will have to face a short but steep climb to exit the town and turn right. For 500 metres you will ride on the SS7, with the village of Salza Irpina on your right, before turning left onto a secondary road with zero traffic. Relax and enjoy the pleasant climb (2 km) on your pedal-assisted bike. You will cross a dense and lush forest of beech and chestnut trees while maintaining a steady and decidedly rideable gradient. When you pass under an overpass and the forest gives way to a splendid panorama, it means that the climb is almost over. On your left you will have a wide view of Irpinia, with the Partenio Park, Montevergine and many small villages; on your left vineyards, countryside and the beauty of Monte Tuoro.
At the end of the road, turn right to join the SP39, which will take you to Chiusano San Domenico. When you come to a nice view (unfortunately transennined due to a landslide when this information sheet was written), it will mean you are entering the village. Go straight on, past Borgo Ripa (the old historic centre of Chiusano San Domenico, home of the journalist Carlo Nazzaro), the town square) and you have arrived. On the right, you will notice the orange sign of Reveló, the bike and rental point in Chiusano San Domenico of Ciclostazione Avellino.
