Prati di Logarghena (Filattiera)

The Logarghena Prairies are mountain pastures situated at 1000m asl at the foot of the Apennine range. It is the ideal place for walks, hikes, picnics etc. May is the perfect month to visit the prairies that are a blast of daffodils.
In the past the prairies were used by shepherds for the transhumance, but still today during the summer months you can meet some sheep at pasture. Several hiking paths depart from here climbing to the ridge of the Apennine and the other side where the glacial lakes are. Along the paths you can stop at the mountain huts Rifugio Mattei, Capanna Tifoni and Rifugio Mariotti.

You can reach the prairies on foot from Pontremoli, walking past the village of Arzengio, or by car from Filattiera and Serravalle.
