In the heart of the country of Ponte, the state road literally divides the country into two halves : on the one hand are the typical houses and stalls Walser, in which the larch wood is the main material, and on the other two other structures in masonry in a completely different style. Here is the stone house (Casa Forte), which was flown in 1569 by Antonio Zur Schmitten, a wealthy bearer of parcels and notaio of the Valley. Still on the outside are the iron rings to which the animals were bound. He brought wine, salt and wheat across the border. Today the Schtei Hüs (House of Stone), so called for its structure in masonry and stone, is an ethnographic museum with traditional artifacts from the traders of these valleys, photographs and documents on the centuries-old and rich history of the Valley.
Opening, Every Tuesday and Saturday from 15.30 to 17.30 in July and August. For groups, on reservation, also open out of time.
