This building is an important stage of the beginning of 16th Century Renaissance. The project, at least the facade, is attributed to Bramante. Why this "architect of the Pope" would have committed to a project in such a small village? It is probably due to the Bishop Enrico Bruno, bishop in Taranto, who was born in Roccaverano and friend with Bramante. They met at the court of Pope Julious II.
