The Alhambra is a palace and fortress symbol of the culture and influence of Moorish on Granada.
Originally constructed in AD 889 on Roman remains, in the mid-13th century it was renovated and rebuilt by the Nasrid emir.
The Alhambra was the royal palace of the Nasrid Sultans, the top government officials and the royal court.
It is possible to admire also the Generalife, the summer palace and country estate of the Nasrid rulers, with its beautiful Moorish garden.
